The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has begun a ramp improvement project along State Road (SR) 9A/I-95 Expressway in Miami-Dade County. 

This project is incorporated as one of three distinct construction projects scheduled for early 2024, all taking place simultaneously within the same regions. The additional projects include the SR 913/Rickenbacker Causeway Flyover Bridge Rehabilitation Project, which construction activities are currently underway, and the SR 913/SW and SE 26 Road Roadway project which is estimated to commence in April 2024.

WORK TO BE PERFORMED

  • Widening the roadway from I-95 SB off-ramp to SW 26 Rd
  • Installing a new traffic signal at SW 25 Rd
  • Installing wrong-way countermeasures, rapid flashing  beacons and traffic video detection equipment on traffic signals
  • Replacing pavement at ramp entrances, exits and bridge approaches
  • Modifying drainage structures and replacing damaged sidewalks and curb and gutter
  • Upgrading signals, lighting, signage and pavement markings
  • Repaving and restriping the roadway

LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION

Lane closures, ramp closures and detours are only allowed during non-peak hours on non-event days/weekends. Non-peak hours are:
  • 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday Nights
  • 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Friday and Saturday Night
Local roads (SW 8 Street, SW 25 Road, SW 26 Road)
  • 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Weekdays and Weekends
Ramp gore reconstruction and drainage work allowed from
  • 11 p.m. through 5 a.m. Friday through Monday
