The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for a roadway project at SR 5/US 1/Dixie Highway from Marlin Road to SW 183 Street

WORK TO BE PERFORMED:

FDOT COMPASS

FDOT is committed to ensuring the State’s infrastructure serves residents, businesses, and visitors to meet their current and future transportation needs. Benefits of this project include:

COMMUNITIES

  • Installing crosswalks at the intersections of SW 184 Street and SW 186 Street.
  • Modifying the median at SW 183 Street and providing a northbound left turn and U-turn lane.

 

 


SAFETY

  • Installing a directional island at Point Royale Shopping Center median opening, eliminating the left turns along the northbound and southbound directions.
  • Upgrading pedestrian curb ramps, sidewalks and signals.
  • Converting the median into a separator at the west leg of Marlin Rd to provide an eastbound left turn lane
  • Providing an additional U-turn lane north of Royal Point Shopping Center.

 


RESILIENCY

  • Repaving and restriping the road in the areas of added improvements.

 

 


SUPPLY CHAIN

  • FDOT invests in roadways and transportation facilities to facilitate the movement of goods that serves our community and beyond.

 

 


TECHNOLOGY

  •  FDOT is dedicated to using new and emerging technologies to enhance safety and help prevent incidents.

 

 


WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

  • This project creates opportunities for contractors, which results in economic benefits for workers and the community.

 

 


                                                                                              

MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC

During construction, temporary lane closures will affect traffic. Access to adjacent businesses and neighborhoods will be maintained.Pedestrian Detours will be established with clear signage.

 

PUBLIC MEETING

FDOT will host an in-person and online Public Meeting for those interested in learning more about this design project.
