The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for a roadway project located along State Road (SR) 5/US 1/Overseas Highway from Mile Marker (MM) 87.21 to MM 90.16, in Monroe County.
WORK TO BE PERFORMED:
- Repaving and restriping the road
- Upgrading guardrail and roadside barriers
- Installing sidewalk and curb and gutter to replace the barrier wall north of Woods Avenue
- Adjusting stormwater drainage northbound
- Upgrading detectable warnings at trail crossing locations
- Replacing road signage and upgrading pavement markings
- Upgrading pedestrian signals at Woods Avenue
- Placing sod at the unpaved shoulders to address erosion
MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC
During construction, temporary lane closures and detours will have effects on traffic. Pedestrian detours will be established with clear signage. Access to adjacent businesses and neighborhoods will be maintained.
