PROJECT WORK SCOPE

FDOT is committed to ensuring the State’s infrastructure serves residents, businesses, and visitors to meet their current and future transportation needs. Benefits of this project include:

  • Upgrading vehicular and pedestrian signals, signage, and pavement markings
  • Installing pedestrian curb ramps and new detectable warning surfaces
  • Repaving and restriping to preserve the surface life of the road
  • Reconstructing damaged sidewalks and modifying damaged driveways as needed
  • Constructing a new crosswalk at the intersection of S.R. 5/U.S. 1/Biscayne Boulevard and NE 91 Street
  • Upgrading pedestrian signals at all signalized intersections
  • Upgrading traffic signals along S.R. 5/U.S. 1/Biscayne Boulevard at:
    • NE 6 Avenue
    • NE 91 Street
    • NE 96 Street
    • NE 105 Street

LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION

Lane closures shall occur only during non-peak hours or on non-event days/weekends. Non-peak hours are:

Along S.R. 5/U.S. 1/Biscayne Boulevard from NE 38 Street to NE 61 Street

  • From 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., Weekdays and weekends

Along S.R. 5/U.S. 1/Biscayne Boulevard from NE 6 Avenue/NE 88 Street to NE 105 Street

  • From 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights
