• LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION

  Lane closures shall occur only during non-peak hours or on non-event days/weekends. Non-peak hours are:

  • In the eastbound direction:
  • 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., within the limits of the school zone
  • 10:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., while school zone is active
  • In the westbound direction:
  • 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. within the limits of a school zone
  • 5 a.m. to 6:45 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., while school zone is active

  Lane closures shall not be permitted during school speed zone hours where such closures will affect traffic flow in the vicinity of the school speed zones.

• LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION

  • Up to one southbound or northbound lane along S.R. 5/Biscayne Boulevard will be closed (as needed) from NE 61 Street to NE 64 Street between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and at night between 11:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m.
  • Up to one southbound or northbound lane along S.R. 5/Biscayne Boulevard will be closed (as needed) from NE 64 Street to NE 6 Avenue between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and at night between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.

• Nighttime single-lane closures are scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 4, and Thursday, March 5, ending by 6:30 a.m. the following morning.

• Nighttime single-lane closures will take place on the Channel 5 Bridge Sunday, March 1 through Thursday, March 5, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning.

  Flaggers will periodically stop traffic in one direction to allow vehicles from the opposite direction to pass safely.

• The right turn from Overseas Highway onto N. Roosevelt Blvd. will be closed and a detour in place on Wednesday, March 4, and Thursday, March 5, from 8:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Outbound traffic on N. Roosevelt Blvd. will remain open. During this detour, motorists will be directed to turn left onto S. Roosevelt Blvd. Outbound lanes on N. Roosevelt Boulevard will remain open throughout the detour. *SEE DETOUR MAP*

  Additional nighttime single-lane closures are scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. on the following nights: Sunday, March 1, through Wednesday, March 4, ending by 6:30 a.m. the following morning.

  Lanes can be closed during the following hours:

  Single-lane closures may be in place:

  • 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights

  Full ramp closures will be in place for certain work activities:

  • 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights

  Local roadway closures (SE 1 Avenue, SW 2 Street, SW 2 Avenue, SW 1 Street, W Flagler Street):

  • 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights

  Access to businesses and residences will be maintained. Pedestrian and vehicular detours will be established with clear signage. Lane closure information is posted weekly on the department's website, www.southflroads.com.
