The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a rehabilitation project on November 3, 2026, on State Road (S.R.) 5/U.S. 1/Overseas Highway in Monroe County over the Torch Ramrod Channel (near Mile Marker 27.7) on Bridge #900114.

WORK TO BE PERFORMED

  • Repairing damaged and cracked concrete
  • Strengthening of key bridge supports and foundation elements
  • Adding corrosion protection systems

LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION

Shoulders of the travel lanes may be closed only during non-peak hours on non-event days.

Non-peak hours for the Torch Ramrod Channel Bridge are 7 p.m. to 9 a.m., Monday through Thursday.

Note that most of the construction work will be accomplished from the water which will not impact vehicular traffic.
