The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) began a landscaping project on Monday, April 6, 2026, along State Road (S.R.) 5/U.S. 1/Overseas Highway from Mile Marker (MM) 108.426 to MM 112.593, in Monroe County.

FDOT is committed to ensuring the state’s infrastructure serves residents, businesses, and visitors, to meet their needs now and in the future. Key areas include safety, resiliency, supply chain, technology, and workforce development. The following benefits are included in this project:

 

COMMUNITIES

  • Adding landscape improvements along the project limits

  • Enhancing landscaping along the corridor to help reduce roadside ponding

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
