The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) began a rehabilitation project on the Seven Mile Bridge on March 2, 2026.
FDOT is committed to ensuring the state’s infrastructure serves residents, businesses, and visitors, to meet their needs now and in the future. Key areas include safety, resiliency, supply chain, technology, and workforce development. The following benefits are included in this project:

- Repairing and strengthening the bridge

- Restriping the roadway to preserve the service life

- Rehabilitating the structure to extend bridge service life

- Extending the life of the bridge maintains access for deliveries

Current Status / Upcoming Activities
LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION
Travel lanes may be closed only during non-peak hours on non-event days.
Non-peak hours are 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
Note that most of the construction work will be accomplished from the water which will not impact vehicular traffic.
