S.R. 826/Palmetto Expressway southbound off-ramp to eastbound S.R. 90/SW 8 Street Safety Improvement Project

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will begin a safety improvement project on July 26, 2026, along the State Road (S.R.) 826/Palmetto Expressway southbound off-ramp to eastbound S.R. 90/SW 8 Street, in Miami-Dade County.

 

Project Scope of Work

• Resurfacing the ramp with high friction asphalt to improve vehicle control 
• Installing dynamic curve warning signage that activates when drivers approach 
• Adding new pavement markings along the ramp 
• Restriping the existing pedestrian crosswalk 
• Adding new advanced warning signage on the ramp’s entrance 
• Installing new guardrail and traffic delineators 

Lane Closure Information

Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community. Lanes can be closed during the following hours: 

• 10 p.m. to 8 a.m., Sunday through Thursday 
• 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., Friday and Saturday 

Access to businesses and residences will be maintained at all times. Pedestrian and vehicular detours will be established with clear signage. Weekly lane closure updates are posted at www.SouthFLRoads.com.
