This design project is now in the construction phase.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for two roadway projects along State Road (SR) 860/Miami Gardens Drive from NW 27 Avenue to NE 5 Avenue, in Miami-Dade County. 

WORK TO BE PERFORMED:

  • Closing abandoned driveways
  • Repaving and restriping the road
  • Improving stormwater drainage to address ponding issues
  • Adjusting manholes
  • Enhancing damaged sidewalks, driveways and curb and gutter
  • Upgrading vehicular signing and pavement markings
  • Improving pedestrian signalization and crosswalks at signalized intersections
  • Adding countdown pedestrian signals
  • Enhancing lighting at signalized intersections
  • Trimming landscape to improve intersection sight distance                                                                                                           

MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC

During construction, temporary lane closures during non-peak hours and detours may affect traffic. Access to adjacent businesses and residences will be maintained. 

A hybrid Public Meeting  was held Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at the North Dade Regional Library, 2455 NW 183 Street, Miami, FL 33056.
