The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for a roadway project located along S.R. 5/U.S. 1/Overseas Highway from West of Venetian Boulevard Mile Marker (MM) 85.9 to north of Executive Bay Club (MM 87.2) 

WORK TO BE PERFORMED:

• Widening northbound lanes to add a 7-foot wide buffered bike lane and extending the merge lane from the weigh station 
• Upgrading guardrail and roadside barriers at various locations
• Adding lighting along the weigh station's northbound merge lane pavement widening
• Repaving and restriping the road 
• Constructing sidewalk on the southbound side between Gimpy Gulch Drive and the Fire Station

MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC (MOT):

Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community. During construction, temporary lane closures during non-peak hours may affect traffic. Vehicular and pedestrian detours will be established with clear signage. Access to adjacent businesses and residences will be maintained.
