Project Summary
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for an intersection project along State Road (SR) 5/US 1/ Overseas Highway at North College Road, in Monroe County.
WORK TO BE PERFORMED:
-
Installing a traffic signal at the intersection
-
Restricting the southbound US 1 left turn movement and U-turn at the intersection
-
Realigning the driveway on the south side of the intersection and restricting the left turn movement onto southbound US 1
-
Upgrading pedestrian sidewalks, ramps, lighting and signalization
-
Repaving and restriping the intersection
MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC
During construction, temporary lane closures during non-peak hours and detours may affect traffic. Vehicular, cyclist and pedestrian detours will be established with clear signage. Access to adjacent businesses and residences will be maintained.Work will be done in stages to minimize impacts and ensure traffic flows safely through the work zone.
