About

Project Characteristics

The projects extend along Krome Avenue from SW 296 Street to SW 136 Street for a distance of approximately 10 miles. The corridor is a major north-south rural/suburban principal arterial within the project limits, with various land uses including agricultural, commercial, residential, and protected lands. The projects will address roadway safety, corridor capacity, and a variety of design deficiencies.

Overall Improvements

  • Reconstruct and widen from 2- to 4-lane divided roadway
  • Provide drainage system along project corridor
  • Install guardrail in median throughout project length
  • Provide lighting throughout project length
  • Provide adequate access management along project corridor
  • Enhance traffic flow along project corridor
  • Provide a shared use path for pedestrians and bicyclists
  • Provide new traffic signal at the intersection of SW 272 St
  • Upgrade traffic signals at SW 296 St, SW 288 St, SW 264 St, SW 248 St, SW 232 St, SW 216 St, and SW 200 St
  • Replace C-103 Canal/Mowry bridge
  • Replace C-102 Canal culvert with new bridge
  • Relocate existing South Florida Water Management District drainage control structure S-194 over C-102 canal
