S.R. 9/NW 27 Avenue from NW 18 Terrace to NW 20 Street Safety Project

Project Summary

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will begin a roadway project the week of September 23, 2026, along S.R. 9/NW 27 Avenue from NW 17 Street to NW 20 Street in Miami-Dade County and the City of Miami. 

Project Scope of Work

• Upgrading the existing traffic signalization at the intersection   
• Installing a new traffic signal for northbound traffic along NW 27 Avenue   
• Repaving and restriping to preserve the service life of the road   
• Reconstructing concrete sidewalks and pedestrian ramps   
• Adding new pedestrian and vehicular signage   

Lane Closures and Detours

Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community. Lanes can be closed during the following hours: 

• 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays and weekends 
• 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., weekdays and weekends 

Access to businesses and residences will be maintained at all times. Pedestrian and vehicular detours will be established with clear signage. Weekly lane closure updates are posted at www.SouthFLRoads.com. 

Detours will be used on an as-needed basis for specific construction activities. Detour information will be updated on the project website and shared via e-blasts to those subscribed to project updates.
