About

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) along with the Greater Miami Expressway (GMX) is constructing the $866 million I-395/S.R. 836/I-95 Design-Build Project. These projects will be constructed concurrently by the Archer Western-de Moya Group Joint Venture to minimize impacts to the public. WORK TO BE PERFORMED:

I-395 Reconstruction

  • Complete reconstruction of I-395 including a new signature bridge that will span over NE 2 Avenue and S.R. 5/Biscayne Boulevard.
SR 836 Enhancements
  • Enhancements include double-decking S.R. 836 to provide drivers with a direct connection to the MacArthur Causeway that is free of local entry and exit traffic.
I-95 Concrete Pavement Reconstruction
  • Replacement of concrete pavement on both northbound and southbound travel lanes.

LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION:

To do this work safely, it will be necessary to shift traffic, close lanes and detour traffic at times. Special events will be considered when scheduling closures. The noted hours below are for single lane closures, multi-lane closures will occur later. This contract allows for weekend closures and detours.

I-395 Reconstruction
  • 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights

S.R. 836 Enhancements

  • 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights
  • 8:30 p.m. to 9 a.m., Friday nights
  • 8:30 p.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday nights

I-95 Concrete Pavement Reconstruction

  • 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights

RAMPS

  • 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights
  • 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights
