The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) began a landscape relocation project on November 21, 2022 along SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road in Miami-Dade County.
 
WORK TO BE PERFORMED
  • Relocating 388 trees along the SR 826/Palmetto Expressway Interchange ramps in preparation of the upcoming SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road reconstruction project
  • The contractor will be removing the trees for several months. The remainder of the project schedule is for the establishment phase to allow the newly relocated trees to settle. 

LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION

Travel lanes may be closed during nonpeak hours and on nonevent days. Nonpeak hours are:

  • 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights
  • 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., Friday and Saturday nights
There are no current lane closures for this project. All landscape removals and relocations were completed. The project is currently in the establishment phase to allow newly relocated trees to settle.
 
Please note, there are adjacent projects underway with additional lane closures that may affect the traffic flow and cause delays in this area. Lane closures information will be posted weekly on the Department’s website, www.southflroads.com/okeechobee.
