As part of the ongoing Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Roadway Project on State Road (SR) 817/NW 27 Avenue from NW 135 Street to NW 187 Street, there will be nighttime lane closures beginning Sunday, October 6, through Thursday, November 21 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., for paving. 

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, October 4 to Saturday, October 12, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a bridge replacement project the week of October 8, 2024. The pedestrian bridge will cross State Road (SR) 90/US 41/SW 8 Street, just west of SW 109 Avenue, in Miami-Dade County. Roadwork will also occur along SR 90/SW 8 Street and SW 109 Avenue. The current construction cost is $37.7 million and will take about two years to complete. Please note that this schedule may change.

As part of the ongoing interchange reconstruction work, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be implementing various roadway closures and detours. These closures will allow crews to perform bridge work, stormwater drainage installation, roadway paving, utility work and temporary concrete barrier wall installation.

As part of the ongoing State Road (SR) 916/NW 135 Street/NW 136 Street Roadway Project, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be implementing the first of three temporary road closures and detours along the project limits beginning on October 7, 2024.

The Florida Department of Transportation will implement nightly road closures and detours on SR 5/US 1/Overseas Highway from Jewfish Creek Bridge MM 108.4 to the Miami-Dade County Line MM 112.8.

Beginning Sunday, October 6, one travel lane will be closed for paving operations on State Road (SR) A1A/S. Roosevelt Blvd. in Monroe County. These nighttime paving operations will take place from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, between Go Lane at Riviera Canal and SR 5/US 1/N. Roosevelt Blvd. One travel lane will be open in each direction at all times.

As part of the ongoing State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway Capacity Improvement Project, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation will commence relocation of the southbound express lane entrance from NW 154 Street/Miami Lakes to SR 932/NW 103 Street/W 49 Street beginning Wednesday, October 9.

All southbound lanes on Interstate 95 (I-95) will be closed at State Road (SR) 836 starting at 11 P.M. on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4, until 11 A.M. on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5, to safely complete a concrete pour over the roadway for the new westbound I-395 ramp to southbound I-95.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will kick-off the 2024 “Drive Safe” campaign, aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of aggressive driving. Running through the end of the year, the campaign will utilize community outreach, social media messaging, Public Service Announcements (PSAs), and other initiatives to reach drivers throughout Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, September 27 to Saturday, October 5, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work.

Beginning on Sunday, September 29, nighttime ramp closures will be in place on multiple ramps to allow for concrete work. Detours will be in place to access northbound    SR 9A/Interstate 95 (I-95) and southbound SR 5/US 1. All lanes will re-open for traffic by 6 a.m. during the weekdays.

As part of the ongoing interchange reconstruction work, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be implementing various roadway closures and detours. These closures will allow crews to perform bridge work, stormwater drainage installation, roadway paving, utility work and temporary concrete barrier wall installation.

Beginning tonight, September 26 at 9:30 p.m. until Friday, September 27 at 5 a.m. a full closure and detour will be in place along NW 12 Avenue/NW 13 Avenue at State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway. Work will be taking place in preparation to reconstruct the bridge that was struck by a tractor trailer, not associated with the Golden Glades Interchange (GGI) Project.

All lanes along southbound State Road (SR) 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road will be closed nightly starting at 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 26 until Saturday, September 28.Travel lanes will reopen to traffic daily by 5:30 a.m. This closure will allow the contractor to install foundations for overhead signs in the area. Please note, this is a nighttime operation and construction noise is expected. 

All northbound and southbound lanes and pedestrian access have been reopened along NW 12 Avenue/NW 13 Avenue at State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway. Work crews completed the first phase of emergency repairs due to the bridge being struck by a tractor trailer. One westbound travel lane and the outside shoulder remains closed along SR 826/Palmetto Expressway.

All lanes along southbound and northbound State Road (SR) 91/Florida’s Turnpike will be closed between SR 852/NW 215 Street/County Line Road and the Golden Glades Interchange on three consecutive nights.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host an in-person and virtual Public Meeting for a roadway design project along State Road (SR) 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road from west of W 8 Avenue to west of SE 7 Avenue, starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2024.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, September 20 to Saturday, September 28, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work.

The State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway southbound exit ramp at SR 932/NW 103 Street will be closed beginning 9 p.m. Friday, September 20 to 5 a.m. Monday, September 23.

The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will close NW South River Drive from NW 28 Street to NW 31 Street beginning on Saturday, September 21 at 6 a.m. through Tuesday, September 24, at 4 a.m.

All lanes along southbound and northbound State Road (SR) 91/Florida’s Turnpike will be closed between SR 852/NW 215 Street/County Line Road and the Golden Glades Interchange on three consecutive nights.

These closures will allow crews to perform bridge work, stormwater drainage installation, roadway paving, utility work and temporary concrete barrier wall installation.

All lanes along southbound and northbound State Road (SR) 91/Florida’s Turnpike will be closed between SR 852/NW 215 Street/County Line Road and the Golden Glades Interchange starting at 9 p.m. on Sunday, September 15.

All lanes along NW 116 Way/Hialeah Gardens Boulevard (Blvd) between State Road (SR) 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road and Frontage Road will be closed nightly starting at 9 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2024 until Friday, September 20, 2024. The lanes will reopen to traffic daily by 5:30 a.m. This closure will allow the contractor to set structural forms for the upcoming bridge deck concrete pours. Please note, this is a nighttime operation and construction noise is expected.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, September 13 to Saturday, September 21, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host an in-person and online Public Meeting for an intersection design project at State Road (SR) 5/US 1/Overseas Highway and North College Road, starting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

All southbound lanes on Interstate 95 (I-95) will be closed at State Road (SR) 836 starting at 11 p.m. on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, until 11 a.m. on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, to safely complete a concrete pour over the roadway for the new westbound I-395 ramp to southbound I-95. The southbound I-95 ramp to eastbound I-395 will remain open during this time frame.

All lanes along NW South River Drive between NW 122 Street and NW 121 Way will be closed for two consecutive weekends, starting at 9 p.m. Friday, September 13 until Sunday, September 22.Limited access in and out of NW 121 Way will be provided with the assistance of flaggers. This closure will allow the contractor to install drainage structures in the area. 

Contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation will implement nightly lane closures on State Road (SR) 9A/Interstate 95 (I-95), starting Tuesday, September 10. These closures will occur on weeknights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and will continue through Friday, September 13. All lanes will re-open for traffic by 6 a.m. during the weekdays.

On TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, all eastbound State Road (SR) 836 travel lanes will be closed at NW 17 Avenue between 11:45 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. to perform roadway repairs. The detours are noted below and found HERE as well:

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a meeting, both in-person, and virtually, for the State Road (SR) 90/US 41/SW 8 Street at SW 109 Avenue Pedestrian Bridge Replacement Project starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024.

As part of necessary ongoing rehabilitation work, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close ramps along State Road (SR) 9A/Interstate 95 (I-95) to perform stormwater drainage structure installations beginning Tuesday, September 3 through Saturday, September 7.

Beginning Tuesday, September 3 at 8 p.m., access to Laguna Avenue (MM 99.6) from northbound and southbound State Road (SR) 5/Oversees Highway will be continuously closed to complete drainage work. During this operation, the following detours will be implemented for residents and motorists who wish to access Laguna Avenue:

As part of the ongoing interchange reconstruction work, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be implementing various roadway closures and detours. These closures will allow crews to perform bridge work, stormwater drainage installation, roadway paving and temporary concrete barrier wall installation.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, August 30 to Saturday, September 7, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work.

The Florida East Coast Railway (FECR) in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will close NE 79 Street from NE 4 Avenue to NE 4 Court on Saturday, September 7 through Tuesday, September 10.

To manage traffic flow and prevent congestion, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has installed pavement markings showing a “Do Not Block” intersection symbol on the asphalt, as well as posted signs along SR 5/Overseas Highway at Key Largo School (MM 105).

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, August 23 to Saturday, August 31, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work. 

As part of the ongoing interchange reconstruction work, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be implementing various roadway closures and detours. These closures will allow crews to perform bridge work, stormwater drainage installation, roadway paving and temporary concrete barrier wall installation.

On Friday, August 23, between the hours of 1 a.m. and 3 a.m., Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) officers will slow eastbound traffic to approximately 5 mph on State Road (SR) 836 between SR 953/NW 42 Avenue and NW 17 Avenue, to allow workers to move construction material and equipment safely.

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) received a request to temporarily change the drawbridge operation regulation 33 CFR 117.305(b) that governs the State Road (SR) 7/NW 5 Street Bridge across the Miami River, mile 1.5, at Miami, FL. In response to this request, The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is authorized to perform a temporary deviation of bridge operation.

All southbound lanes on State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway from NW 122 Street/W 68 Street to SR 932/NW 103 Street/W 49 Street will be closed from 12 a.m. - 5 a.m. Tuesday, August 20 through Thursday, August 22 for sign installation. 

As part of the ongoing interchange reconstruction work, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be implementing various roadway closures and detours. These closures will allow crews to perform bridge work, stormwater drainage installation, roadway paving, overhead sign removal and temporary concrete barrier wall installation.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, August 16 to Saturday, August 24, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of August 26, on State Road (SR) 5/US 1/Overseas Highway from Jewfish Creek Bridge (MM 108.4) to the Miami-Dade County Line (MM 112.8). This project will last fifteen months and cost $19 million.

Contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will implement nightly lane closures on the westbound State Road (SR) 913/Rickenbacker Causeway Flyover Bridge, SE/SW 26 Road and South Miami Avenue, starting Monday, August 19. These closures will occur on weeknights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and will continue through Monday, August 26.

As part of the State Road (SR) 25/NW 36 Street Roadway Project, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will temporarily shift traffic between NW 27 Avenue and NW 22 Avenue beginning on Monday, August 19, to allow for the construction of new drainage along the project limits.

A left lane on eastbound SR 836 is closed from the toll gantry to east of NW 17 Avenue and will remain closed until 5:30 a.m. on Friday, August 16, due to unforeseen equipment issues.

The inbound and outbound travel lanes of State Road (SR) A1A/South Roosevelt Boulevard at the corner of Bertha Street will be closed nightly, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday, August 19 through Thursday, August 22. This closure allows workers to install a Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority (FKAA) water main. Motorists should plan an alternate route during the nighttime closure. The promenade will remain open for pedestrians and cyclists.

As part of the ongoing FDOT Roadway Project along State Road (SR) 817/NW 27 Avenue from NW 135 Street to NW 187 Avenue, contractors will close the westbound off-ramp of SR 826/Palmetto Expressway at SR 817/NW 27 Avenue between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., to repave the ramp.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway improvement project the week of August 19 along State Road (SR) 25/NW 36 Street from NW 27 Avenue to NW 22 Avenue. The work will last about seven months and will cost approximately $1.4 million.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, August 9 to Saturday, August 17, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work.

Contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close travel lanes on Brickell Avenue, as needed, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., beginning Monday, August 12 to safely remove the metal containment platform underneath the westbound State Road (SR) 913/Rickenbacker Causeway Flyover Bridge. At least one lane will remain open in each direction and all lanes will reopen by 6 a.m.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has successfully completed the necessary concrete deck rehabilitation work and reopened the ramp from westbound State Road (SR) 913/Rickenbacker Causeway to northbound Interstate 95 (I-95), on Saturday, August 3.

A new traffic pattern has been implemented along westbound Interstate 395 (I-395)/MacArthur Causeway just west of Watson Island and on the ramp to State Road (SR) 5/US 1/Biscayne Boulevard (Exit 2). The merge on the right lane, just west of Watson Island, has been removed and the exit to SR 5/US 1/Biscayne Boulevard is now approximately one-quarter of a mile further to the east.

All lanes along NW 116 Way/Hialeah Gardens Boulevard (Blvd) between State Road (SR) 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road and NW South River Drive will be closed nightly starting at 9 p.m. on Sunday, August 4, 2024 until Monday, August 12, 2024. The lanes will reopen to traffic daily by 5:30 a.m. This closure will allow the contractor to deliver and install structural beams for the overpass deck. Please note, this is a nighttime operation and construction noise is expected. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of August 5, 2024. The project limits extend along State Road (SR) 90/US 41/SW 8 Street from SW 65 Avenue to SW 29 Avenue in Miami-Dade County. This project will cost an estimated $2.8 million and will take about 10 months to complete.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, July 26 to Saturday, August 3, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work. 

As part of the ongoing interchange reconstruction work, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be implementing various roadway closures and detours. These closures will allow crews to perform bridge work, stormwater drainage installation, roadway paving, overhead sign removal and temporary concrete barrier wall installation.

On Wednesday morning, July 31, a new traffic pattern will be implemented on westbound MacArthur Causeway just west of Watson Island and on the ramp to State Road (SR) 5/US 1/Biscayne Boulevard (Exit 2) as shown here. The merge on the right lane, just west of Watson Island, will be removed and the exit to SR 5/US 1/Biscayne Boulevard will be moved approximately one-quarter of a mile further to the east.

As part of the ongoing State Road (SR)5/Overseas Highway Rehabilitation Project over the Tea Table Relief Bridge (MM 79.8), contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will shift traffic daily, Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Beginning on Thursday, July 25.  

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, July 19 to Saturday, July 27, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work.

As part of the ongoing interchange reconstruction work, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be implementing various roadway closures and detours. 

All northbound lanes on State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway from SR 932/NW 103 Street/W 49 Street toNW 122 Street/W 68 Street will be closed from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, July 21 (with backup date of Sunday, July 28) for toll gantry removal. 

Beginning Sunday, July 21 there will be nighttime closures of both the eastbound and westbound lanes along State Road (SR) 922/NW/NE 125 Street between N Miami Avenue and NE 3 Avenue. These closures are scheduled to take place nightlyfrom 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. until Thursday, July 25. This work is necessary to safely complete paving as part of the SR 915/NE 6 Avenue and SR 922/NW/NE 125 Street Roadway Project. A detour will be established to guide drivers around the work.

As part of the necessary ongoing rehabilitation work, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close the westbound ramp of State Road (SR) 913/Rickenbacker Causeway Flyover Bridge to northbound Interstate 95 (I-95) at 10 p.m., Sunday, July 21 and detour traffic. The ramp will remain closed until Saturday, August 3.

All eastbound lanes of State Road (SR) 836 will be closed at NW 17 Avenue from 11 p.m. Saturday, July 20 until 9 a.m. Sunday, July 21, to safely complete a concrete pour for a bridge support structure just west of Interstate 95 (I-95). 

As part of the ongoing Tamiami Trail Next Steps Phase 2 Project, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be implementing a traffic shift today along eastbound State Road (SR) 90/SW 8 Street/Tamiami Trail near the structure S-334, which is approximately 1.5 miles west of SR 997/SW 177 Avenue/Krome Avenue. This traffic shift will allow drainage and roadway work to continue in the eastern segment of the project.

Starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, the southbound/eastbound lanes along State Road (SR) 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road will be closed between NW 98 Avenue and Hialeah Gardens Boulevard/NW 116 Way. The lanes will reopen to traffic by 5 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024. This closure will allow the contractor to install Intelligent Transportation System structures in the area. Please note, this is a nighttime operation and construction noise is expected. The following detour will be implemented:

WHAT: Press conference for “Operation Southern Slow Down,” a week-long joint speed enforcement awareness campaign between the Florida Department of Transportation and southeastern law enforcement agencies which aims to reduce speed-related crashes and fatalities on interstates and state highways.

Drivers will experience the complete closures noted below for bridge and roadway work on Interstate 395 (I-395), State Road (SR) 836, and I-95:

On WEDNESDAY MORNING, JULY 17 (THURSDAY MORNING, JULY 18 IS AN ALTERNATE DATE), all westbound Interstate 395 (I-395) travel lanes will be shifted to the left as shown HERE from east of North Bayshore Drive to Biscayne Boulevard. The shift is necessary to open a work zone to continue constructing one of the I-395 signature bridge arches.

This initiative aims to raise awareness, educate our community and partners, eliminate unsafe behaviors and promote a culture of safety for pedestrians and cyclists. Organized in collaboration with local authorities, community leaders, and safety advocates, the campaign's goal is to create a safer environment and reduce incidents involving pedestrians and cyclists on our roadways.

As part of the necessary ongoing rehabilitation work, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close the westbound ramp of State Road (SR) 913/ Rickenbacker Causeway Flyover Bridge starting Monday, July 8 through Saturday, August 3.

These closures will allow crews to perform bridge work, roadway paving and temporary concrete barrier wall installation. These closures and detours will be in place between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, June 28 to Wednesday, July 3, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work.

As part of necessary ongoing rehabilitation work, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will begin repairs along State Road (SR) 5/Overseas Highway along Channel 5 Bridge on Sunday, June 30. Work will be performed between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. during the days shown below:

Complete closures of eastbound State Road (SR) 836 continue to be implemented from NW 17 Avenue to Interstate 95 (I-95), as noted below, to safely construct a bridge support structure that will span the entire width of eastbound SR 836 just west of I-95.

Starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024, travel lanes along NW South River Drive between NW 116 Way and west of NW 115 Way will be closed. Lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024. This closure will allow the contractor to connect drainage pipes in the area.

Starting at 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 23 to Wednesday, June 26, 2024, travel lanes along Frontage Road will be fully closed for three nights between NW 114 Street to NW 92 Avenue. The lanes will reopen to traffic daily by 5 a.m. This closure will allow the contractor to connect two underground drainage pipes. Please note, this is a nighttime operation and construction noise is expected. 

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, June 21, to Saturday, June 29, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work. 

Drivers will experience the complete closures noted below for bridge and roadway work on Interstate 395 (I-395), State Road (SR) 836, and Interstate 95 (I-95):

Beginning Monday, June 24, the eastbound turn lane at the intersection of NE 203 Street and State Road (SR) 5/Biscayne Boulevard will be closed as part of the NE 203 Street Intersection Project. This lane reduction will last for several months through August 16. During this period, one eastbound turn lane, one through lane, and all other westbound turn lanes will remain open.

As part of the ongoing Golden Glades Interchange (GGI) Project, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will introduce two new traffic patterns along Florida’s Turnpike and State Road (SR) 7/US 441/NW 7 Avenue.

All southbound lanes on State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway from NW 122 Street/W 68 Street to SR 932/NW 103 Street/W 49 Street will be closed 12 a.m. - 5 a.m. Thursday, June 20 (with backup date of Friday, June 21) for bridge construction. The southbound express lanes will remain open. 

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, June 14, to Saturday, June 22, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work.

These closures and detours will be in place between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

As part of the necessary ongoing rehabilitation work, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close the westbound ramp of State Road (SR) 913/ Rickenbacker Causeway Flyover Bridge starting Monday, July 8 through Saturday, August 3.

As part of the ongoing roadway project along State Road (SR) A1A/South Roosevelt Boulevard from Bertha Street to the east end of Smathers Beach, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will begin repaving and restriping the road on Monday, June 17. Work will be performed between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m., Monday through Thursday, and is expected to be completed by Friday, June 21.

Due to current weather conditions, the full closure of the NW 22 Avenue Railroad Crossing, from Ali Baba Avenue to State Road (SR) 9, expected to reopen on June 12, is being extended until further notice. 

On Wednesday, June 12, all northbound lanes on Interstate 95 (I-95) will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., between NW 8 Street and NW 17 Street, to allow workers to shift northbound travel lanes by Thursday morning, June 13.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has completed the State Road (SR) 934/NW 74 Street roadway project from East of SR 826/Palmetto Expressway to NW 69 Street in the Town of Medley. This 15-month project began in March 2023 and cost approximately $3.7 million. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a meeting for a roadway design project along State Road (SR) 5/US 1/North Roosevelt Boulevard from Eisenhower Drive to South Roosevelt Boulevard, starting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

As part of the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) 95 Express Phase 3C project, all lanes of SR 9/I-95 northbound between Ives Dairy Road and SR 858/Hallandale Beach Boulevard will be closed overnight to install an overhead structure. The closure will be in effect from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday night, June 16. The first lane will close at 9:30 p.m., the second lane will close at 10:30 p.m., and all lanes will be closed by 11 p.m., reopening by 5 a.m. Monday, June 17 and Tuesday, June 18 will be used as contingency nights if needed.

Complete eastbound State Road (SR) 836 closures continue from NW 17 Avenue to I-95 to safely construct a bridge support structure over eastbound SR 836 just west of I-95. The contractor has completed the installation of the exterior formwork and is now working on preparing the structure for the installation of the reinforcing steel. Upcoming closures are noted below: 

Starting at 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2024, travel lanes along Frontage Road will be fully closed between NW 114 Street to NW 92 Avenue. The lanes will reopen to traffic by 5 am on Monday, June 10. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of Monday, June 3, on State Road (SR) 5/US 1/Overseas Hwy from Mile Marker (MM) 36.6 to MM 38.4. This project will last seven months and cost $4.64 million.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadwayprojecttheweekofJune 10along State Road (SR) 916/NW 135 Street/NW 136 Street from west of NW 30 Avenue to east of NW 27 Avenue. The project will last about ten months and the current construction cost is $3.3 million.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, May 31, to Saturday, June 8, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work.

The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will close NW 22 Avenue from Ali Baba Avenue to State Road (SR) 9 starting at 7 p.m. Friday, June 7, through 4 a.m. Wednesday, June 12.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) recently completed anIntelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) replacement project. This project replaced and updated ITS devices throughout Miami-Dade County along State Road (SR) 9A/I-95, SR 826, US 441, SR 9 and US 1. The $7 million project took roughly two years to be completed.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway from Monday, May 27, to Saturday, June 1, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work.

Complete closures of eastbound State Road (SR) 836 will continue to be implemented from NW 17 Avenue to I-95 as noted below to safely construct a bridge support structure that will span the entire width of eastbound SR 836 just west of I-95.

Beginning Wednesday, May 29 through Monday, July 29, a traffic shift will be implemented continuously along northbound State Road (SR) 5/Overseas Highway between Harbor Drive (MM 98.9) and Fisherman’s Trail (MM 99.1). Two northbound lanes will temporarily shift at approximately MM 98.9, to allow crews to perform drainage improvements.

These closures will allow crews to perform bridge work, roadway paving and temporary concrete barrier wall installation. These closures and detours will be in place between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.

As part of the ongoing project at the Golden Glades Interchange, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be implementing an around-the-clock full closure and detour of NW 6 Avenue between NW 151 Street and NW 162 Street.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin the construction of Phase 2 of a new detection system at 24 ramps throughout Miami-Dade County the week of May 27, 2024, as part of an ongoing Statewide Wrong-Way Driving Initiative

As part of necessary ongoing rehabilitation work, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close at least one lane on the ramp from Southbound Interstate 95 (I-95) to SW 25 Road (Exit 1A) weeknights between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. to install foundations for new traffic signals at the intersection with SW 25 Road. At least one lane on the ramp will remain open at all times and all lanes will reopen between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. 

As part of the necessary ongoing rehabilitation work, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close travel lanes along Brickell Avenue, SE 26 Road and South Miami Avenue to clean and paint existing traffic railings on the westbound State Road (SR) 913 flyover bridges. Work will be performed between the hours 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for six nights. This work is part of the on-going State Road (SR) 913/Rickenbacker Causeway Flyover Bridge Rehabilitation Project, which began in February and will continue through early 2025.

As part of the ongoing roadway project along State Road (SR) A1A/South Roosevelt Boulevard from Bertha Street to the east end of Smathers Beach, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will begin paving operations, removal of temporary barrier wall and roadway striping on Tuesday, May 21.

Beginning Monday, May 20 at 9 a.m., access to Ocean Bay Drive (MM 99.4) from northbound State Road (SR) 5/Overseas Highway will be continuously closed to complete drainage work. During this operation, the following detour will be implemented for residents and motorists who wish to access Ocean Bay Drive:

This closure will allow the contractor to connect drainage pipes in the area. The following detours will be implemented:

Starting on Friday, May 17, complete closures of eastbound State Road (SR) 836 will be implemented from NW 17 Avenue to I-95 to safely construct a bridge support structure that will span the entire width of eastbound SR 836 just west of I-95. The structure will support the new double-decked roadway and will be constructed in place, using four major phases over approximately three months.

As part of necessary ongoing rehabilitation work, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will begin replacing guardrail along the westbound State Road (SR) 913/Rickenbacker Causeway Flyover Bridge on Monday, May 20. Work will be performed between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for four nights. This work is part of the I-95 Ramp Improvement Project, which began in February and will continue through early 2025.

Starting on Friday, May 17, complete closures of eastbound SR 836 will be implemented from NW 17 Avenue to I-95 to safely construct a bridge support structure that will span the entire width of eastbound SR 836 just west of I-95. The structure will support the new double-decked roadway and will be constructed in place, using four major phases over approximately three months. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a Public Kick-off Meeting for the SR 5/US 1/Overseas Highway Seven Mile Bridge over the Moser Channel Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, May 10, to Saturday, May 18, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work.

The following ramp and lane closures are scheduled between Sunday, May 12, and Friday, May 17, 2024.

The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will close NW 35 Avenue from NW 58 Street to NW 60 Street starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 18, through 4 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, weather permitting.

Beginning at 8 p.m., on Wednesday, May 8 workers will close all westbound lanes on the SR 934/NE 79 Street easternmost bridge and shift westbound traffic to one lane on the eastbound bridge. This closure will occur nightly, Sunday through Thursday, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for about six weeks. The channel under the bridge will be closed to all marine traffic during this time. All lanes will reopen from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily and work will be suspended from 5:30 a.m. Fridays, until 8 p.m. Sundays. 

On Wednesday, May 8, and Thursday, May 9, the on and off-ramps of SR 826/Palmetto Expressway at SR 817/NW 27 Avenue will be closed as needed between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., to repave the ramps. Only one ramp will be closed at a time.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a Public Hearing for the SR 934/NE 79 Street (John F. Kennedy Causeway) Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study.

The Florida Department of Transportation, in close coordination with the City of Hialeah Gardens, will begin removing of the Brothers to the Rescue Memorial monument located at 1101 West Okeechobee Road, Hialeah Gardens, FL 33018.  Following the removal, the City of Hialeah Gardens will construct a new monument at Westland Gardens Park located at 13051 NW 107 Avenue. The removal of the monument will allow for the widening and construction of a third level overpass at NW 87 Avenue.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a meeting, both in-person and virtually, for the GGI Project starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2024.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a Public Hearing for the SR 934/NE 79 Street (John F. Kennedy Causeway) Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study.

Contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close the westbound ramp from SR 913/Rickenbacker Causeway to southbound SR 5/US 1 for one night to repair substantial potholes on the ramp. The Department is making these necessary emergency temporary repairs, but this is an interim step. The Department will need extended detours in the near future to perform permanent repairs.

Contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close the westbound ramp from SR 913/Rickenbacker Causeway to southbound I-95 and detour traffic from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, for emergency repair of the concrete pavement on the ramp. 

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, April 26, to Saturday, May 4, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge, overhead sign structure and drainage work. 

NE 3 Avenue and NW 14 Street will be closed as noted below to safely perform bridge demolition activities over the roadways. Nearby residents and businesses should anticipate elevated noise levels during the demolition activities. The contractor will implement measures to minimize dust impacts. The operations will involve large machinery and walking through the work zones is strictly prohibited. The work and closures are being implemented during the weekend and daytime hours to minimize noise impacts to nearby residents during the overnight hours.

The following ramp and lane closures are scheduled between Sunday, April 28, and Friday, May 3, 2024.

Beginning Sunday, April 28, there will be a series of nighttime closures of the westbound lanes along SR 112/I-195/Julia Tuttle Causeway.The closures will occur nightly, Sunday, April 28 through Tuesday, April 30, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. All lanes will reopen from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., daily. The closures are necessary to complete work on the new overhead sign structure. During the work SR A1A/MacArthur Causeway will be used as the alternate route. The eastbound lanes will remain open at all times. A detour will be established to guide drivers around the work. Traffic will be detoured as follows:

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of Sunday, April 28, 2024, on S. Roosevelt Boulevard from Riviera Canal Bridge at Go Lane to SR 5/US 1/N. Roosevelt Boulevard. The project is one of five separate construction projects slated for Monroe County, which includes the project currently underway on S. Roosevelt Boulevard along Smathers Beach.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is launching the 2024 "Ride Smart Florida" safety campaign in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties to promote motorcycle safety. The campaign emphasizes making smart decisions for the well-being of riders and road users. It will run from May through June, using media ads, social media, and PSAs to promote safety messages.

On April 22, 2024, travel lanes along northbound/westbound SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road between NW 116 Way and NW 105 Way will be shifted south onto the new concrete pavement. 

Beginning Monday, April 22 through Wednesday, April 24, the on and off-ramps of SR 826/Palmetto Expressway at SR 817/NW 27 Avenue will be closed as needed between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., to repave the ramps. Only one ramp will be closed at a time.

The following ramp and lane closures are scheduled between Sunday, April 21, and Friday, April 26, 2024.

Starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024, travel lanes along NW South River Drive between NW 116 Way and west of NW 115 Way will be closed. Lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, April 22, 2024. This closure will allow the contractor to connect drainage pipes in the area. The following detours will be implemented:

Beginning the week of April 15, short-term full closures will be implemented as needed for the installation of the new traffic signal mast arms at the intersections of East 41 Street and east 42 Street from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, April 12, to Saturday, April 20, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge, overhead sign structure and drainage work.

Beginning Sunday, April 14, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation will close the flyover bridge on westbound SR 913/Rickenbacker Causeway connecting to southbound SR 5/US 1/South Dixie Highway and northbound SR 9A/I-95 while workers rehabilitate concrete pavement on the bridge decks. The closure will last about two months. Eastbound traffic will not be affected and access to SE/SW 26 Road, Brickell Avenue and South Miami Avenue will be maintained.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)hassuccessfullycompletedtheSR994/QuailRoostDriveroadway project from SR 997/Krome Avenue to SR 825/SW 137 Avenue in Miami-Dade County. The project began in July 2023, lasted about eight months and cost approximately $4.3 million.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, April 5, to Saturday, April 13, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work. 

The following ramp and lane closures and traffic shifts are scheduled between Sunday, April 7, and Friday, April 12, 2024.

Starting on Saturday, April 6, 2024, lane closures will be implemented along SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road southbound/eastbound lanes between NW 116 Way and NW 105 Way. Lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, April 8, 2024. These closures will allow the contractor to shift southbound/eastbound SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road to the north, creating a protective work zone adjacent to the Miami Canal. See closures below:

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise have started construction of the GGI Project, in northwest Miami-Dade County. The project will enhance regional mobility by revitalizing this major transportation hub, which includes connections to five essential roadway systems in the South Florida area: State Road (SR) 9A/I-95, SR 826/Palmetto Expressway, SR 91/Florida’s Turnpike, SR 9, and SR 7/US 441/NW 7 Avenue. Construction is scheduled through fall 2031, and the current project cost is $908 million.

On Thursday night, April 4, 2024, there will be a full nighttime closure of the westbound lanes along SR 112/I-195/Julia Tuttle Causeway between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The closures are necessary to complete work on the new overhead sign structure. During the work SR A1A/MacArthur Causeway will be used as the alternate route. All lanes will reopen by 5:30 a.m., Friday, April 5. Eastbound traffic will not be impacted. On Wednesday, April 3, and Thursday, April 4, the following ramps along northbound SR 826/Palmetto Expressway will be closed during nighttime hours to conduct testing of the new Wrong-Way Driving detection systems. Please note that the ramp closures listed below will not occur simultaneously:

FDOT has successfully completed the SR 932/NW-NE 103 Street roadway project from NW 6 Avenue to NE 2 Avenue, in Miami Shores Village. This nine-month project began in June 2023 and cost approximately $1.9 million. 

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, March 29, to Saturday, April 6, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work. 

The following ramp and lane closures and traffic shift are scheduled between Monday, April 1, and Friday, April 5, 2024.

Beginning Sunday, April 14, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation will close the flyover bridge on westbound SR 913/Rickenbacker Causeway connecting to southbound SR 5/US 1/South Dixie Highway and northbound SR 9A/I-95 while workers rehabilitate concrete pavement on the bridge decks.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, March 22, to Saturday, March 30, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work.

Beginning on Sunday, March 24, through Thursday, March 28, up to two lanes on I-95 in both directions will be closed as needed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.  On Monday, March 25, the ramp from the southbound Turnpike to southbound I-95 will also be closed, beginning at 11:59 p.m. Two lanes will remain open in each direction on I-95 and all lanes and the ramp will reopen by 5 a.m.

MIAMI, Fla. – On WEDNESDAY MORNING, MARCH 27, a new traffic pattern will be implemented for drivers on westbound I-395 and for those drivers entering I-395 from the Downtown Miami area. Thursday morning, March 28 is an alternate date for the traffic shift in the event that it cannot be completed on March 27 due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Beginning Sunday, March 24, there will be a series of nighttime closures along the easternmost SR 934/NE 79 Street Causeway Bridge located near the City of Miami Beach. These closures will affect both motorists and marine vessels. The closures will occur nightly, Sunday through Thursday, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for approximately three months. All lanes will reopen from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and work will be suspended from 5:30 a.m. Fridays, until 9 p.m. Sundays.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, March 15, to Saturday, March 23, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work.

Beginning Monday, March 18 through Wednesday, March 20, the following ramps along SR 826/Palmetto Expressway and I-95 will be closed during nighttime hours to conduct testing of the new Wrong-Way Driving detection systems:

MIAMI, Fla. – On Friday evening, March 15, all southbound lanes on I-95 will be closed at SR 836 starting at 11 p.m. until 8 a.m. Saturday morning, March 16, for the installation of bridge beams over the roadway. The southbound I-95 ramps to SR 836 and I-395 will remain open during this time frame.

On Tuesday, March 19, two eastbound travel lanes on SR 826/Palmetto Expressway and the ramp from eastbound Palmetto Expressway to southbound I-95 will be closed in preparation for a traffic shift through this area. Closures will occur as follows:

NE 1 Avenue, in Downtown Miami, will be closed between NE 11 Street and NE 13 Street from 5:30 a.m., Saturday, March 16 until 5:30 a.m., Monday, March 18, to allow workers for the I-395/State Road (SR) 835/I-95 Design Build Project to safely remove bridge structures over the roadway. 

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, March 8, to Saturday, March 16, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work. 

North Miami Avenue will be closed from NW 13 Street to NW 11 Street starting at 10 p.m. on Friday, March 8 until 5:30 a.m. on Monday, March 11 to allow the contractor to safely remove the bridge structures over the roadway. Drivers continuing south of NW 13 Street will only have access to the I-395 entrance ramp. Access to businesses between NE 14 Street and NE 13 Street will be maintained. The new traffic pattern on the North Miami Avenue ramp to westbound I-395 and on westbound I-395 from North Miami Avenue to I-95 is being postponed until further notice. Once a new date has been scheduled, further updates will be provided.

The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will close Dunad Avenue from Ali Baba Avenue to Burlington Street starting at 7 p.m. Friday, March 15, through 5 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, weather permitting.

Beginning Monday, March 4 through Friday, March 8, travel lanes along SR 994/Quail Roost Drive between Krome Avenue and SW 137 Avenue will be closed from 7:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. to install new pavement markings. The striping operation will be conducted in three separate phases:

On MONDAY MORNING, MARCH 4, a new traffic pattern will be implemented for drivers on westbound I-395 and for those drivers entering I-395 from the Downtown Miami area. 

All lanes of northbound SR 817/NW 27 Avenue between NW 183 Street/Miami Gardens Drive and NW 185 Terrace have reopened. Drivers may still experience delays traveling through the area and should seek alternate routes if possible.

Three northbound travel lanes along SR 817/NW 27 Avenue are closed until further notice, between NW 183 Street/Miami Gardens Drive and NW 185 Terrace to perform emergency repairs to utility conduits in the area. Crews are currently on-site addressing the issue. 

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, February 23, to Saturday, March 2, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host an Alternatives Public Meeting for the I-195/SR 112/Julia Tuttle Causeway PD&E Study from NW 12 Avenue to SR 907/Alton Road. 

On Thursday night, February 29, 2024, there will be a full nighttime closure of the eastbound and westbound lanes along SR 112/I-195/Julia Tuttle Causeway between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The closures are necessary to install a new overhead sign structure. During the work SR A1A/MacArthur Causeway will be used for the detour route. All lanes will reopen by 5:30 a.m., Friday, March 1. A detour will be established to guide drivers around the work. Traffic will be detoured as follows:

On Monday Morning, February 26, the eastbound lanes on I-395 will be shifted to the right just after Biscayne Boulevard to open up a new work area for signature bridge arch foundation work. In addition, the Biscayne Boulevard ramp lane to eastbound MacArthur Causeway will be shifted to the left as shown HERE.

North Miami Avenue will be closed from NW 13 Street to NW 11 Street starting at 10 p.m. on Friday, February 23 until 5:30 a.m. on Monday, February 26 to allow the contractor to safely remove the bridge structures over the roadway. Drivers continuing south of NW 13 Street will only have access to the I-395 entrance ramp. Access to businesses between NE 14 Street and NE 13 Street will be maintained.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, February 16, to Saturday, February 24, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a Public Kickoff Meeting for the SR 953/NW 42 Avenue with SR 948/NW 36 Street and SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road (Iron Triangle) PD&E Study. 

Beginning at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, the northbound lanes at the intersection of SR 25/Okeechobee Road and NW 116 Way will be closed. The closure will take place nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. until March 28, 2024. This will allow crews to continue pile driving efforts for the construction of the overpass. 

Later this week, drivers traveling west along NE 203 Street (next to Promenade Shops) just east of Biscayne Boulevard, will be routed onto the new vehicular ramp that passes over the Florida East Coast Railway crossing and West Dixie Highway. The opening is expected either Wednesday, February 14 or Thursday, February 15. This movement is the second new ramp to open as part of the NE 203 Street Enhancement Project.

Beginning Tuesday, February 13, there will be a full nighttime closure of southbound SR 5/US 1/South Dixie Highway at SW 62 Avenue. This closure is part of the ongoing ITS Replacement Project and is scheduled Tuesday through Thursday between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. while the contractor installs a new overhead electronic message board. A detour will be established to help guide motorists around the work. 

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, February 9, to Saturday, February 17, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work. 

On Tuesday morning, February 13, the travel lanes on mainline eastbound I-395 will be shifted slightly to the right after the NE 2 Avenue/Biscayne Boulevard ramp (Exit 2B) as shown HERE. To implement the traffic shift, all eastbound I-395 lanes will be closed at I-95 on Monday evening, February 12, between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The northbound and southbound I-95 ramps to eastbound i-395 will also be closed during this time frame.

The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will close NW 22 Court from NW 21Terrace to NW 23 Street starting at 6 p.m. Friday, February 16, through 5 a.m. Wednesday, February 21, weather permitting.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a ramp improvement project the week of February 7, 2024. The project includes ramps at the Rickenbacker Causeway and SW 25 Road, SW 8 Street and SW 7 Street, I-95 shoulders from SR 5/US 1/South Dixie Highway to SW 8 Street and the SR 970/SR 5/Downtown Distributor Ramps from South Miami Avenue to SE 2 Avenue in Miami-Dade County. The current construction cost is $12.3 million, and work will take about 15 months to complete.

The Palmetto Metrorail Station, located at 7707 NW 79 Avenue, will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, beginning Monday, February 19 for construction on SR 826/Palmetto Expressway. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a bridge rehabilitation project the week of February 5, 2024. This project extends along SR 913/Rickenbacker Causeway westbound flyover bridges to northbound SR 9A/I-95 and southbound SR 5/US-1 in Miami-Dade County. The estimated project construction cost is $3.8 million and is expected to take about 11 months to complete.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, February 2, to Saturday, February 10, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work.

Beginning Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., one travel lane will be closed for pavement reconstruction on SR 5/US 1/Overseas Highway in Monroe County. These Nighttime Paving Operations will take place from MM 19.4 to MM 19.8 on Upper Sugarloaf Key, from MM 20.6 to MM 23.1 on Cudjoe Key, and between MM 26.2 to MM 27.4 on Ramrod Key. 

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, January 26, to Saturday, February 3, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work. 

On Thursday night, February 1, 2024, there will be a full nighttime closure of the eastbound and westbound lanes along SR 112/I-195/Julia Tuttle Causeway between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The closures are necessary to install a new overhead sign structure. During the work SR A1A/MacArthur Causeway will be used as the alternate route. All lanes will reopen by 5:30 a.m., Friday, February 2. Please note should weather or unforeseen circumstances occur, Sunday night, February 4 will be used as the alternate date for the full nighttime closure. A detour will be established to guide drivers around the work. Traffic will be detoured as follows:

All southbound lanes (including the southbound express lanes) on SR 826/Palmetto Expressway at SR 932/NW 103 Street/W49Streetwillbeclosed11 p.m. - 5 a.m. Tuesday, January 30 (with backup dates of Wednesday, January 31 and Thursday, February 1) to allow for a bridge jacking operation.

In addition, all eastbound and westbound lanes on SR 932/NW 103 Street/W 49 Street at SR 826/Palmetto Expressway will be closed, 11 p.m. - 5 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, (with backup dates of Wednesday, January 31 and Thursday, February 1).

Beginning Sunday, January 28, 2024, the NW 121 Way Bridge will be fully closed for approximately one year. Crews will demolish and reconstruct the bridge, a vital route connecting NW South River Drive to SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road, over the Miami Canal.This work will extend the service life of the bridge and include widening to accommodate the heavy truck traffic in the area.During this time, detours will be in place to providing access to and from SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road. 

The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), has rescheduled the full closure of NW 58 Street from NW 37 Avenue to NW 35 Avenue to begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 2, through 4 a.m. on Wednesday, February 7.This closure allows workers to rehabilitate the railroad crossing.During this closure, all traffic will be detoured away from the crossing and directed to follow signs to alternate local streets. Closures of southbound I-95 and SR 836 will be implemented as noted below to allow the project contractor to safely perform work over the roadway.

Beginning Monday, January 22, one westbound lane along NE 203 Street (next to Promenade Shops), just east of Biscayne Boulevard will be closed for approximately three weeks while the contractor continues roadway and bridge work. A continuous closure and detour will be set up to guide drivers traveling west on NE 203 Street around this work (see map below). Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, January 12, to Saturday, January 20, 2024. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work.

Beginning Thursday night, January 11, through Sunday morning, January 14, the contractor for the NE 203 Street Interchange Project will be setting the beams for the new pedestrian bridge that will cross over the Florida East Coast Railroad tracks and West Dixie Highway. This work will require the closure of a section of West Dixie Highway and of the vehicular ramp along southbound Biscayne Boulevard to westbound NE 203 Street. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin an intersection improvement project the week of January 15, 2024 on SR 860/Miami Gardens Drive at NW 30 Avenue in Miami-Dade County. This project will cost an estimated $900,000 and will take about five months to complete.

Beginning Wednesday, January 3 through Friday, January 12, a single lane closure will resume along northbound SR 5/Overseas Highway, from MM 98.0 to MM 99.0, between 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition to the daytime lane closure, a nighttime lane closure will occur from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

On THURSDAY MORNING, DECEMBER 21, a new traffic pattern will be implemented for drivers on westbound I-395 and for those drivers entering I-395 from the Downtown Miami area. Drivers on westbound I-395 will be diverted to new bridges after passing Biscayne Boulevard. Drivers heading north on I-95 will now exit on the right side of the roadway and those heading south will exit to the left. Drivers heading west to SR 836 will continue straight.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, December 15, to Saturday, December 23, 2023. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work.

Nighttime and extended closures of southbound I-95 and the southbound I-95 ramp to eastbound I-395 will be implemented as noted below to allow the project contractor to continue the removal of bridge beams over the roadway and overhead ramp construction. 

Beginning at 9 p.m., Monday, December 11, there will be a full closure of the northbound and southbound express lanes along SR 9A/I-95 near NW 109 Street and the southbound express lanes along SR 9A/I-95 at NW 151 Street.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, December 8, to Saturday, December 16, 2023. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work.

Nighttime closures of southbound I-95 and the southbound I-95 ramp to eastbound I-395 will be implemented as noted below to allow the project contractor to continue the removal of State Road (SR) 836 bridge sections over the roadway.

On FRIDAY MORNING, DECEMBER 15, a new traffic pattern will be implemented for drivers on southbound I-95 heading to eastbound I-395.

Beginning Sunday, December 10, 2023, at 9:30 p.m., the inbound and outbound travel lanes of SR A1A/South Roosevelt Boulevard, and the pedestrian pathway, will be closed nightly, Sunday through Thursday from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. This closure allows workers to install stormwater drainage pipes across the roadway. The work is expected to be completed by December 15, 2023. Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians should plan an alternate route during the nighttime closure.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a hearing, both in-person and virtually, for a roadway design project along SR 90/SW 8 Street/Tamiami Trail from Beacom Boulevard to SW 2 Avenue, starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.

On FRIDAY MORNING, DECEMBER 1, a new traffic pattern will be implemented for drivers on SR 836 heading to eastbound I-395 to open newly constructed bridges.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of November 28 along SR 953/LeJeune Road from NW 79 Street/E 25 Street to NW 103 Street/E 49 Street, in the City of Hialeah. The work will last about ten months and will cost an estimated $3.3 million.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of November 27, 2023. The project limits extend along SR 9336/SW 392 Street from Everglades National Park to SR 5/US 1. This project will cost an estimated $15.2 million and will take about fifteen months to complete.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, November 17, to Tuesday, November 21, 2023. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work.

Monday, November 20, there will be a full closure of the general purpose and express lanes along SR 9A/I-95 near Hallandale Beach Boulevard at nighttime. This work is scheduled through 5 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023 to install a new overhead electronic message board as part of the ITS Replacement Project. Beginning Sunday, November 12, there will be nighttime closures of the southbound general purpose and express lanes along SR 9A/I-95 just south of Hallandale Beach Boulevard. This work is scheduled nightly through Friday, November 17, 2023 to install a new overhead electronic message board as part of the ITS Replacement Project. A detour will be established to guide drivers around the work. The closures are as follows

The outside southbound lane of NW 2 Avenue approaching SR 852/NW 215 Street is closed due to an unforeseen waterline break on the northwest corner of the intersection. 

The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA), in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will close NW 46 Street from SE 9 Court to NW 37 Avenue starting at 6 a.m. Friday, November 17, through 5 a.m. Wednesday, November 22.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of November 7, 2023. The project limits are along SR 909/West Dixie Highway from south of NE 129 Street to north of NE 151 Street in Miami-Dade County. This project will cost an estimated $5.9 million and will take about twelve months to complete.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Sunday, November 5, to Saturday, November 11, 2023. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work. 

At least one travel lane in each direction of SR 932/NW-NE 103 Street, including local side streets, from NW 6 Avenue to NE 2 Avenue will continue to be closed through Friday, November 10, to pave the road between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

Beginning Friday night, November 3 through Monday morning, November 6 one westbound inside lane along SR 112/I-195/Julia Tuttle Causeway will be continuously closed for median work and guardrail installation. A second westbound lane will close nightly at 9 p.m. to perform the median reconstruction work. At least one westbound lane will remain open at all times. Lane closures will be as follows:

Beginning Monday, October 30 through Friday, November 10, at least one lane in each direction through the intersection of SR 985/SW 107 Avenue and SW 24 Street/Coral Way will be closed to pave the road between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Sunday, October 29, to Saturday, November 4, 2023. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of November 2, 2023. The project limits extend along State Road (SR) 5/Overseas Highway from MM 97.0 to MM 100.0. This project will cost an estimated $8.4 million and will take about 11 months to complete.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a bridge rehabilitation project the week of November 1, on the Tea Table Relief Bridge, located on SR 5/Overseas Highway at Mile Marker (MM) 79.8, in Monroe County. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of October 30, 2023. The project limits extend along SR 25/US 27/NW 36 Street from west of NW 7 Avenue to east of North Miami Avenue in Miami-Dade County. This project will cost an estimated $1.9 million and will take about six months to complete.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a public meeting both in-person and virtually, for the State Road (SR) 948/NW 36 Street from SR 826/Palmetto Expressway to SR 5/US 1 Multimodal Study, in Miami-Dade County. This planning study is evaluating and developing improvements to address existing and future multimodal needs along the corridor.

Beginning Monday, October 23 through Friday, November 3, at least one travel lane in each direction of SR 932/NW-NE 103 Street, including local side streets, from NW 6 Avenue to NE 2 Avenue will be closed to pave the road between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

On TUESDAY MORNING, OCTOBER 24, a new traffic pattern will be implemented for drivers on northbound I-95 heading to eastbound I-395 to open newly constructed bridges.

The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will close NW 62 Street from E 10 Avenue to NW 37 Avenue starting at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, through 4 a.m. on Thursday, November 2. This closure allows workers to rehabilitate the railroad crossing. During this closure, all traffic will be detoured away from the crossing and directed to follow signs to alternate local streets. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin an intersection improvement project the week of October 16, 2023. The project limits are along SR 852/NW 215 Street at the intersection of NW 2 Avenue in Miami-Dade County. This project will cost an estimated $640,000 and will take about five months to complete.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has launched the 2023 “Drive Safe” safety campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of aggressive driving. This important campaign will run through the end of 2023, and includes grassroots outreach, social media messaging, Public Service Announcements (PSAs) and other methods to spread the word to drivers throughout Miami-Dade and Monroe County. FDOT has also partnered with local agencies and organizations to spread the campaign’s message.

Beginning Friday night, October 13 through Monday morning, October 16 one eastbound inside lane along SR 112/I-195/Julia Tuttle Causeway will be continuously closed for median work and guardrail installation. A second eastbound lane will close nightly at 9 p.m. to perform the median reconstruction work. At least one eastbound lane will remain open at all times. Lane closures will be as follows:

Beginning Sunday, October 15, 2023, at 9:30 p.m., the inbound and outbound travel lanes of SR A1A/South Roosevelt Boulevard, and the pedestrian pathway, from Atlantic Boulevard to the end of Smathers Beach will be closed nightly, Sunday through Thursday from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. This closure allows workers to install stormwater drainage pipes across the roadway. The work is expected to be completed by November 10, 2023. Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians should plan an alternate route during the nighttime closure.

All eastbound travel lanes of SR 924/NW 119 Street between NW 7 Avenue and the Southbound I-95 on-ramp have reopened.

Beginning Monday, October 9 through Friday, October 13, the following ramps along SR 826/Palmetto Expressway and I-95 will be closed to pave the road:

The new traffic signal on the southwest corner of NE 125 Street and NE 7 Avenue will be activated by the end of Tuesday, October 10. To prepare to switch to the new signal, a partial closure of the intersection will be needed during daytime hours to allow the contractor to remove the old signalization equipment. The partial closure is scheduled between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and will impact the following areas:

Beginning Friday, October 6, all southbound lanes (including the southbound express lanes) on SR 826/Palmetto Expressway at SR 932/NW 103 Street/W 49 Street will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday and 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Six, is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of October 1, 2023. Work will take place on Frontage Road, which extends along the Gulf side of SR 5/US 1, located in Monroe County. This project will cost an estimated $1.6 million and will take about 10 months to complete.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host an Alternatives Public Meeting for the SR 934/NE 79 Street (John F. Kennedy Causeway) PD&E Study from west of Pelican Harbor Drive to east of Adventure Avenue.

Beginning Wednesday morning, September 13, the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) will continue relocating a force main along NE 203 Street between the Florida East Coast Railroad tracks and Biscayne Boulevard overpass to allow for additional NE 203 Street Intersection Project work. A continuous closure and detour will be set up to guide drivers traveling west on NE 203 Street around this work (see map below). The Florida Department of Transportation has scheduled an Alternatives Public Meeting regarding the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for SR 5/US 1 Long Key Bridge Over Long Key Channel (Bridge # 900094) from Mile Marker (MM) 63 to MM 66 in Monroe County, Florida. The Alternatives Public Meeting will be held virtually on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm and in-person on Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. These meetings will be conducted in an informal setting.

FDOT has successfully completed the SR 933/NW 12 Avenue Roadway Project from NW 19 Street to NW 29 Street in the City of Miami. This eight-month project began in December 2022 and cost approximately $2.4 million. FDOT, along with its contractor, Roadway Construction, LLC., completed this project on schedule and within budget.

The previously announced rail crossing closure has been extended. Florida East Coast Railway (FEC) in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will now reopen SR 916/NE 135 Street from NE 16 Avenue to SR 5/Biscayne Boulevard on Tuesday, August 29 at 11:59 p.m.This closure allows workers to rehabilitate the railroad crossing. Beginning Sunday, August 13 through Thursday, August 24, from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., at least one lane along northbound and southbound SR 5/US 1 will be closed between NW 57 Avenue/Red Road and Riviera Drive to repave the roadway.

Beginning 10 p.m. on Monday, August 14, the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) will begin the first phase of relocating a force main along NE 203 Street between the Florida East Coast Railroad tracks and Biscayne Boulevard overpass to allow for additional NE 203 Street Intersection Project work. A nightly detour will be set up to guide drivers traveling west on NE 203 Street around this work.

Beginning Friday, August 11 at 9 p.m. through Monday, August 14 at 5:30 a.m., a continuous full closure of SR 932/NE 103 Street at the intersection of NE 2 Avenue will be implemented to perform drainage work on the eastside of the intersection. During this operation, the following detours will be implemented:

On Saturday night, August 5, there will be a full closure of southbound US 1 near SW 62 Avenue for continued work as part of the ITS Replacement Project. A detour will be established to guide drivers around the work.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of August 14, 2023. The project limits extend along SR 5/US 1/Overseas Highway from MM 19.4 to 19.8, from MM 20.6 to MM 23.1, and from MM 26.2 to MM 27.4. This project will cost an estimated $17.5 million and will take about 17 months to complete, though schedules may change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

The Florida East Coast Railway (FEC) in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will close SR 916/NE 135 Street from NE 16Avenue to SR 5/Biscayne Boulevard starting on Saturday, August 19 at 6 p.m. and reopening on Monday, August 21 at 11:59 p.m.This closure allows workers to rehabilitate the railroad crossing. CSX Transportation, in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will close SR 994/SW 200 Street/Quail Roost Drive from SW 147 Avenue to SW 158 Avenue starting at 5 a.m. Friday, August 18 through 4 a.m. Tuesday, August 22.This closure allows workers to rehabilitate the railroad crossing. During this closure, all traffic will be detoured away from the crossing and directed to follow signs to alternate local streets. Traffic will be detoured as follows:

The previously scheduled detour along westbound NE 203 Street between the Florida East Coast Rail tracks and the Biscayne Boulevard has been postponed until later this month. An updated press release with detour route will be distributed as soon as the work is rescheduled.

All motorists traveling in this direction will be directed to use this ramp. The previously used ramp near the Florida East Coast Railway crossing will be permanently closed. 

FDOT has successfully completed the SR 932/NW 103 Street/W 49 Street Roadway Project from W 3 Avenue to E 10 Avenue in the City of Hialeah. This nine-month project began in October 2022 and cost approximately $3.4 million. FDOT, along with its contractor, Bacallao Construction & Engineering Development, LLC., completed this project on schedule and within budget.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of July 24 along SR 994/Quail Roost Drive/SW 200 Street from SR 997/Krome Avenue to SR 825/SW 137 Avenue. The work will last about nine months and will cost an estimated $4.1 million.

MIAMI, Fla. –On Friday, June 30 and Monday, July 3, the following travel lanes will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to install underground utilities at the intersection of SR 985/SW 107 Avenue and SW 24 Street/Coral Way

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Sunday, June 25, to Saturday, July 1, 2023. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work, roadway widening, concrete pouring and temporary asphalt placement.

Beginning the week of June 19, the outside lane of SR 90/SW 8 Street will be closed at SW 70 Street around-the-clock so workers can complete stormwater drainage improvements in the area. One westbound travel lane will remain open. This work will take about two weeks.

FDOT has successfully completed constructing the SR 972/Coral Way Roundabout at the intersection of SW 15 Road in the City of Miami. The eight-month project began in October 2022 and cost approximately $2.7 million. FDOT, along with its contractor, JVA Engineering Contractor, Inc, completed this project on schedule and within budget with the support of elected officials and the community.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadwayprojecttheweekofJune 26 along SR932/NW/NE103Street from NW6AvenuetoNE 2 Avenue. The work will last about seven months and will cost an estimated $1.85 million.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design of dedicated bus lanes along SR 968/Flagler and SW 1 Streets from SW 27 Avenue to SW 6 Avenue in Miami-Dade County. The purpose of this project is to improve transit ridership and reliability by implementing a dedicated bus lane. Construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2024. The estimated construction cost for this project is about $4.5 million.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a meeting, both in-person and virtually, for two roadway design projects along SR 860/Miami Gardens Drive from NW 27 Avenue to NE 5 Avenue, starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2023.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Sunday, June 4, to Saturday, June 10, 2023. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work, roadway widening, and concrete pouring.

For approximately three weekends beginning Friday, June 9, the flyover entrance ramp from SR 932/NW 103 Street/W 49 Street to southbound SR 826/Palmetto Expressway will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday night to 5 a.m. Sunday morning to allow crews to pour concrete and let it harden.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin an intersection project the week of June 5 along SR 985/SW 107 Avenue at SW 24 Street/Coral Way. The work will last about five months and will cost an estimated $915,762.

On Monday, May 22, 2023, all travel lanes along the NW 116 Way bridge, between State Road (SR) 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road and NW South River Drive, will be shifted west while the contractor begins the demolition and reconstruction efforts on the east side of the bridge. Two travel lanes will be maintained in each direction. This shift will be implemented 24 hours, 7 days a week for approximately six months.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a bridge rehabilitation project the week of May 22, 2023. The project limits extend along SR 90/US 41/SW 8 Street/Tamiami Trail over the Spillway Bridges 870031 and 870028, approximately 12 miles west of SR 997/Krome Avenue in western Miami-Dade County. The project will cost an estimated $779,455 and is expected to be completed by late 2023.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Sunday, May 14, to Saturday, May 20, 2023. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work, roadway widening and striping.

On Thursday, May 11, and Sunday, May 14, all southbound I-95 lanes will be closed at SR 836 between the hours of 11:45 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. to allow the contractor to move a crane across the roadway.

Beginning Tuesday, May 9 there will be lane closures and detours along eastbound SR 826/Palmetto Expressway at NW 37 Avenue to perform work as part of the ITS Replacement Project. These closures will occur nightly through Thursday, May 11, 2023. 

Northbound and southbound lanes of SR 5/Overseas Highway will be closed as needed Monday through Thursday, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., through late July to repave the road. 

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Sunday, May 7, to Saturday, May 13, 2023. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work, crash-cushion placement, roadway widening and striping.

On Monday, May 8, all westbound lanes on I-395/SR 836 will be closed at I-95 between the hours of 11:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. to allow the contractor to remove two overhead sign structures. The northbound I-95 ramp to westbound SR 836 will also be closed during this time frame. The I-395 ramps to northbound and southbound I-95 will remain open during this time frame.

Beginning Wednesday, May 3 through Friday, May 19, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., at least one travel lane in each direction along SR 933/NW 12 Avenue will be closed between NW 19 Street and NW 29 Street to repave the road. Lane closures will not occur from Friday, May 5 to Saturday, May 6.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Sunday, April 30, to Saturday, May 6 , 2023.

Beginning Wednesday, May 3 through Friday, May 19, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., at least one travel lane in each direction along SR 933/NW 12 Avenue will be closed between NW 19 Street and NW 29 Street to repave the road. 

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Sunday, April 9, to Friday, April 14, 2023. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting bridge and drainage work, roadway widening and striping.

Beginning on Sunday, April 9, workers for the I-395/SR 836/I-95 Design-Build Project will begin installing additional plastic poles along the northbound 95 Express Lanes to move the entrance point back to its original location, approximately one mile south of the current entrance.

Beginning Wednesday, April 5 through Friday, April 28, the eastbound left turn lane and westbound right turn lane of SR 934/Hialeah Expressway will be continuously along NW 74 Street (Perimeter Road) between NW 74 Avenue and NW 72 Avenue/Milam Dairy Road for drainage work and reconstruct the road.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a bridge rehabilitation project the week of February 13, 2023. The project limits extend along SR 5/US 1/Long Key Bridge (#900094) over the Long Key Channel (MM 64.0) in Monroe County. 

On Monday night, February 6 and Wednesday night, February 8, from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., travel lanes along southbound SR 5/US 1 will be closed to install underground utility at Stanford Drive and Alhambra Circle in the City of Coral Gables.  Work will be performed as follows.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Sunday, February 5, to Friday, February 10, 2023. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting drainage work and clean-up.

On December 15, 2022, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), pursuant to 23 U.S.C. § 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022, and executed by Federal Highway Administration and FDOT, granted Location and Design Concept Acceptance for the Venetian Causeway Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study from North Bayshore Drive to Purdy Avenue.

Beginning Thursday, February 2 through Friday, February 17, the inside lanes of eastbound and westbound SR 924/NW 119 Street over the Rio Vista Canal will be continuously closed to resume bridge rehabilitation and corresponding roadway work.

FDOT will host a Public Kickoff Meeting for the I-195/SR 112/Julia Tuttle Causeway PD&E Study. The limits of the study extend from NW 12 Avenue to SR 907/Alton Road. The public meeting will be held simultaneously, both in-person and virtually, on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at 6 p.m.

Beginning Monday, February 6 through Wednesday, February 8, between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., crews will begin the second phase of roundabout construction by performing a traffic shift along the eastbound SR 972/Coral Way travel lanes and converting them into a single lane in each direction (one eastbound and one westbound).

Beginning on Monday, February 6, contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will shift travel lanes at various locations along SR 5/US 1/Overseas Highway between the Jewfish Creek Bridge (MM 108.4) and the Miami-Dade County Line (MM 112.8) while workers take soil samples along both travel lanes and the outside shoulders.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Sunday, January 29, to Friday, February 3, 2023. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting drainage work and clean-up.

Full closures of the NW 116 Way Bridge between NW South River Drive and Okeechobee Road will take place nightly between the hours of 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday, January 30, through Thursday, February 2, 2023. The closures will allow the contractor to complete work in this area.

On Wednesday night, January 25 and Thursday night, January 26, 2023, nighttime lane closures will occur between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., along the southbound lanes of SR 933/NW 12 Avenue approaching the intersection of NW 20 Street to relocate various utility lines.

Full closures of the NW 116 Way Bridge between NW South River Drive and Okeechobee Road will take place nightly between the hours of 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Sunday, January 22, through Tuesday, January 24, 2023. The closures will allow the contractor to complete work in this area. The following detours will be implemented:

Travel lanes along SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road will be continuously closed in both directions approaching NW 116 Way/Hialeah Gardens Boulevard from 9 p.m., Friday, January 20 until 5 p.m., Saturday, January 21, while workers install a concrete wall for a 102-inch drainage pipe at the Miami Canal.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six is scheduled to begin two roadway projects the week of January 30, 2023. The project limits extend along SR A1A/South Roosevelt Boulevard from Bertha Street to the end of Smathers Beach (250548-8) and SR 5/Whitehead Street from Fleming Street to Truman Avenue (443892-1), located in Monroe County. The SR A1A/South Roosevelt Boulevard project will cost an estimated $23 millionand will take about 27 months to complete. The SR 5/Whitehead Street project will cost an estimated $2.6 million and will take about six months to complete. Schedules may change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

The intersection of NW 114 Street and Frontage Road will be closed from 9 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, to 5 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. This closure will allow the contractor to widen the intersection, install drainage pipes, curb and gutter and repave and restripe the road. Motorists wishing to access NW 114 Street will be detoured through NW 92 Avenue. Please use caution and follow the posted detour signage.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close one southbound travel lane on SR 90/US 41/Brickell Avenue Bridge from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2023, to complete maintenance work. During this closure, all northbound lanes and two southbound lanes shall remain open at all times. 

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Sunday, January 15, to Friday, January 20, 2023. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting drainage work and clean-up.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close one northbound and one southbound travel lane on SR 90/US 41/Brickell Avenue Bridge from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, January 13, for maintenance. During this closure, two lanes will remain open at all times in each direction.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close both northbound and southbound lanes of SR 90/US 41/Brickell Avenue Bridge nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., starting Tuesday, January 17 through Thursday, January 19, 2023, for maintenance in Miami-Dade County.

All travel lanes along SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road will be closed nightly between NW 186 Street and NW 170 Street starting January 9, 2023, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Motorist will be detoured through the frontage road. Please use caution and follow the postage signage.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Monday, January 2, to Friday, January 6, 2022. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting drainage work and clean-up.

Due to inclement weather, tonight’s roadway striping operation has been rescheduled for Thursday, December 22 through Friday, December 23, 2022, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.During this operation, one travel lane of SR 112/Arthur Godfrey Road will be closed through the intersection of Jefferson Avenue.

Beginning Tuesday, December 20 through Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., up to two travel lanes of SR 112/Arthur Godfrey Road will be closed through the intersection of Jefferson Avenue, for roadway striping. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of January 3, 2023. The project limits extend along SR 90/US 41/SW 8 Street from SW 74 Court to SR 9/SW 27 Avenue in Miami-Dade County. This project will cost an estimated $13.8 million and will take about 16 months to complete.

All travel lanes along Frontage Road will be closed nightly between NW 98 Avenue and NW 116 Way/Hialeah Gardens Boulevard from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Monday, December 19, to Thursday, December 22 while crews install a 24-inch sewer pipe. The following detours will be implemented: 

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Sunday, December 18, to Friday, December 23, 2022. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting drainage work, clean-up and Express Lane Marker maintenance.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close both northbound and southbound lanes of SR 90/US 41/Brickell Avenue Bridge nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., starting Monday, December 19 through Friday, December 23, 2022, for maintenance in Miami-Dade County.

Travel lanes along SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road will be closed in both directions approaching NW 116 Way/Hialeah Gardens Boulevard continuously from 9 p.m., Friday, December 16 until 5 a.m., Monday, December 19, while the construction crew installs a 102-inch drainage pipe from the NW 97 Avenue Canal to the Miami Canal.

The following closures on I-95, I-395, SR 836, adjacent ramps and local roads will be scheduled as noted below: 

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Sunday, December 11, to Friday, December 16, 2022. The closures are necessary to allow for conducting drainage work and clean-up. 

Beginning on Saturday, December 10, West Dixie Highway will be continuously closed between NE 204 Terrace and NE 206 Street for bridge work. This closure is anticipated to remain in place through the end of 2022. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close the westbound SR 826/Sunny Isles Boulevard Bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway nightly from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., December 11 through December 16 to paint the bridge. Eastbound traffic will not be affected. 

Starting Friday, December 9, 2022, the southbound travel lanes along SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road between NW 154 Street and NW 117 Avenue will be closed and detoured to the northbound lanes.The southbound lanes will be reduced to one lane. Access to NW 154 Street will be provided at all times. This closure will take place for approximately six months.

The northbound travel lane along SR 5/US 1/Overseas Highway from MM 29.3 to MM 30 will be closed as needed, between the hours of 9 p.m., Thursday, December 8 to 5:30 a.m., Friday, December 9, 2022, while workers pave the roadway. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close eastbound and westbound travel lanes as needed on SR A1A/MacArthur Causeway from 11 p.m., to 5 a.m., Monday, December 12 and Tuesday, December 13, 2022, between Watson Island and Miami Beach for overhead sign repairs in Miami-Dade County. At least one lane will remain open during this time and all lanes will be open during daytime hours. 

Up to two travel lanes in each direction will be closed on SR 112/Arthur Godfrey Road through the intersection with Jefferson Avenue from 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, to 6 a.m., Thursday, December 8, 2022, while workers pave the road.

On Wednesday, December 7, 2022, the access to NW 127 Avenue from Okeechobee Road will be permanently closed. Motorists wishing to access NW 127 Avenue, will be detoured to the newly paved median opening, intersection, and frontage road along NW 129 Avenue. This provides motorists with safe access to and from Okeechobee Road and improves the turning radius for trucks. 

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Sunday, December 4, to Friday, December 9, 2022. The closures are necessary to allow for testing the soil, surveying the area, conducting drainage work, and relocating FPL poles.

The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA), in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will close SR 944/NW 54 Street/Hialeah Drive from SE 10 Avenue to NW  37 Avenue in Miami-Dade County from 10 p.m., Friday, December 9 to 4 a.m., Monday, December 12, 2022, weather permitting. This detour is being established to allow workers to reconstruct the railroad crossing signal devices.

Starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022, the travel lanes along SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road, immediately after the NW 116 Way/Hialeah Gardens Boulevard intersection, will be reduced in both directions. This will allow the construction crew to continue the installation of the 102-inch drainage pipe from the NW 97 Avenue Canal to the Miami Canal. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, December 5, 2022.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has rescheduled an  improvement project along SR 922/NE 125 Street and SR 909/West Dixie Highway to the week of January 9, 2023. The $4.2 million project is expected to be completed by fall 2023.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of December 5, 2022, along SR 5/US 1/South Dixie Highway from SW 80 Street to Riviera Drive in the Cities of Coral Gables and South Miami. The work will last roughly one year and will cost an estimated $6 million.

The meeting will be held both in-person and virtually on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 6 p.m.

Brightline will close the railroad crossing located on NE 203 Street Between Biscayne Boulevard and West Dixie Highway in the City of Aventura starting at 10 a.m., Friday, November 11 through 5 a.m., Monday, November 14, 2022, weather permitting. This detour is being established to allow workers to reconstruct the railroad crossing.

Starting Saturday, November 5, 2022, the northbound lanes along SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road, immediately after the NW 116 Way intersection, will be temporarily closed. This closure will allow the construction crew to continue the installation of the 102-inch drainage pipe from the NW 97 Ave Canal to the Miami Canal. The closure will be in place until 5 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2022.

Beginning Wednesday, October 26 through Thursday, November 3, travel lanes along SR 7/NW 2 Avenue between SR 860/NW 183 Street/Miami Gardens Drive and NW 188 Street will be closed as needed between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., while workers remove existing traffic signal mast arms at the intersection of SR 7/NW 2 Avenue and NW 183 Street/Miami Gardens Drive.  During this operation, travel lanes will be closed in one direction for up to 10 minutes. Law enforcement will assist with directing traffic through the area.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway. The closures are necessary to allow for testing the soil, surveying the area, and conducting drainage work from Saturday, October 22, to Friday, October 28, 2022.

Beginning Monday, October 24 through Tuesday, October 25, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., crews will begin converting the two existing eastbound travel lanes along SR 972/Coral Way at SW 15 Road into a single lane in each direction (one eastbound and one westbound) as part of the first phase of construction.

On Monday, October 24, 2022, the southbound lanes along SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road between NW 154 Street and NW 117 Avenue will be closed and detoured nightly to the northbound lanes. Travel lanes will be reduced to one lane in each direction. This closure will take place between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for approximately one month. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host a Public Kick-off Meeting for the SR 934/NE 79 Street (John F. Kennedy Causeway) PD&E Study from west of Pelican Harbor Drive to east of Adventure Avenue. The public meeting will be held simultaneously, both in-person and virtually, on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

One Tuesday, October 18 and Thursday, October 20, travel lanes at intersection of SR 932/NW 103 Street/W 49 Street and E 8 Avenue/LeJeune Road will be closed between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., to install traffic signal foundations at the NW and SE corners of the intersection. Law enforcement will be on-site directing traffic through the area.

Beginning Monday, October 17, 2022, one lane over the Bahia HondaBridgewillbeclosedas needed, Monday through Friday, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. while FDOT maintenance crews inspect the bridge. Only one lane will be closed in one direction at a time.

This detour is being established to allow workers to reconstruct the railroad crossing.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host an Alternatives Workshop for the SR 994/SW 200 Street/Quail Roost Drive PD&E Study from West of SW 137 Avenue to East of SW 127 Avenue, in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The meeting will be held both in-person and virtually on Tuesday, October 18 at 5:30 p.m.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host a public meeting, both in-person and virtually, for a roadway design project along SR 976/SW 40 Street/Bird Road from east of SR 826/Palmetto Expressway to SW 58 Avenue starting at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2022.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of October 10 along SR 5/US 1/South Dixie Highway from Bailes Road to SW 214 Street. The work will last roughly eight months and will cost an estimated $2.6 million.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway. The closures are necessary to allow for testing the soil, surveying the area, and conducting drainage work from Sunday, October 2, to Friday, October 7, 2022.

On Monday, October 3 the intersection at State Road (SR) 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road and NW 154 Street will be shifted west into the newly poured concrete. This shift will be in place for approximately three months to allow crews to continue the proposed work along the eastside of NW 154 Street. A temporary traffic signal will be installed at the intersection. 

In preparation for the possible effects from Hurricane Ian, The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will reschedule the Public Information Meeting for the SR 972/SW 13 Street/SW 3 Avenue/Coral Way Roundabout Project at SW 15 Road, originally scheduled for Thursday, September 29, 2022 at the Miami-Dade College, Padron Campus. Details regarding the new date for this meeting will be available on the project webpage.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway. The closures are necessary to allow for testing the soil, surveying the area, and conducting drainage work from Sunday, September 25, to Friday, September 30, 2022. 

Starting Friday, September 23, 2022, at 9 p.m., a full closure of the Frontage Road between NW 98 Avenue and Hialeah Gardens Boulevard will take place. This closure will be implemented until 5:30 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2022. During this time, the construction crew will work on the installation of the 102” drainage pipe crossing the Frontage Road. The following detours will be implemented: 

On Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 23, 2022, at least one outside travel lane, in each direction, at the intersection of SR 924/NW 119 Street and NW 10 Avenue will be closed past the standard lane opening hour of 3:30 p.m. to install traffic signal foundations at each corner of the intersection. Drivers might experience delays traveling through the area and should seek alternate routes if possible. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host a meeting, both in-person and virtually, for a roadway project along of SR 823/W 4 Avenue/Red Road between W 57 Street and W 58 Terrace, starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday September 28, 2022.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roundabout project the week of October 3, 2022, along SR 972/SW 13 Street/SW 3 Avenue/Coral Way at the intersection of SW 15 Road in Miami-Dade County. The work will last roughly eight months and will cost an estimated $2.7 million. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) successfully completed the roadway and lighting project along SR 994/Quail Roost Drive/SW 200 Street from west of SW 127 Avenue to SR 5/US 1/South Dixie Highway in Unincorporated Miami-Dade County. This project began in September 2021 and cost an estimated $4.1 million.  FDOT completed this project both on time and under budget with the support of the elected officials and the community. The contractor for this project was Halley Engineering Contractors, Inc.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway. The closures are necessary to allow for testing the soil, surveying the area, and conducting drainage work from Sunday, September 18, to Friday, September 23, 2022. The detour routes are shown below:

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin an improvement project during the week of October 31, 2022, in the City of North Miami. The project limits extend along State Road (SR) 922/NE 125 Street from NE 5 Avenue to NE 7 Avenue and along SR 909/West Dixie Highway from NE 119 Street to NE 124 Street. This project includes permanent changes to the flow of traffic along sections of NE 7 Avenue, West Dixie Highway and NE 124 Street. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host a meeting both in-person and virtually, for a roadway project along of SR 916/NW 136 Street/NW 135 Street from NW 30 Avenue to NW 27 Avenue, starting at 6 p.m., on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.

Beginning Wednesday, September 14 through Thursday, September 15, 2022, nighttime lane closures will occur at the intersection of SR 7/NW 2 Avenue and NW 183 Street/Miami Gardens Drive, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., for the installation of new traffic signal mast arms. Law enforcement will assist with directing traffic through the area.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures and detours on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway. The closures are necessary to allow for testing the soil, surveying the area, and conducting drainage work from Sunday, September 11, to Friday, September 16, 2022.

On Thursday, September 8, 2022, a full nighttime closure of the NW 116 Way Bridge between NW South River Drive and Okeechobee Road will take place between the hours of 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. The closure will be implemented to allow the construction crews to complete work in this area. The following detours will be implemented:

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of September 12, 2022, along SR 932/NW 103 Street/W 49 Street from W 3 Avenue to E 10 Avenue. The work will last roughly ten months and will cost an estimated $3.4 million.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close both northbound and southbound lanes of SR 90/US 41/Brickell Avenue Bridge daily from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., starting Tuesday, September 13 through Thursday, September 15, 2022. (Alternate dates include Monday, September 19 through Thursday, September 22, 2022), for maintenance in Miami-Dade County.

Drivers will experience road, lane and shoulder closures near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway. The closures are necessary to allow for testing the soil, surveying the area, and conducting drainage work from Monday, September 5, to Sunday, September 11, 2022.

The Florida Department of Transportation has rescheduled the traffic shift at the NW 116 Way/Hialeah Gardens Boulevard bridge for Friday, September 2, 2022. All southbound lanes at the bridge will be shifted east while crews begin the reconstruction efforts. Travel lanes will be reduced to two lanes in each direction along the existing bridge between Okeechobee Road and NW South River Drive. This shift will be implemented 24 hours, 7 days a week for approximately five months.

On Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at least one outside eastbound lane of SR 924/NW 119 Street will be closed past the standard lane opening hour of 3:30 p.m., to install traffic signal foundations at the SE corner of the intersection of NW 17 Avenue.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a landscaping project the week of September 6, 2022. The project limits extend along SR 7/US 441/NW 7 Avenue from Little River Drive to NW 118 Street and from NW 143 Street to NW 157 Street in Miami-Dade County. This project will cost an estimated $759,000and will take several months for installation of landscaping and two years for maintenance of work. 

Drivers will experience road, lane, and shoulder closures near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway. The closures are necessary to allow for testing the soil, surveying the area, and conducting drainage work from Sunday, August 28, to Thursday, September 1, 2022. 

On Thursday, August 25, 2022, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., at least one northbound and/or southbound lane of SR 5/US 1/Overseas Highway will be closed from MM 75.0 to MM 76.5, for emergency roadway paving. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host a Public Information Meeting, both in-person and virtually, regarding a PD&E Study for SR 90/SW 8 Street and SW 7 Street from SR 9/SW 27 Avenue to SR 5/US1/Brickell Avenue. The meeting will be held both virtually and in-person on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, starting at 6 p.m., with a formal presentation at 6:30 p.m.

Tonight Monday, August 22 and Thursday, August 25, 2022, a full nighttime closure of the intersection of NW 116 Way and NW South River Drive will take place between the hours of 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. The closure will be implemented to allow the construction crews to install temporary signalization at the southwest and northeast corners of the intersection. Beginning Wednesday, August 17 through Friday, August 19, 2022, nighttime lane closures along eastbound and/or westbound SR 916/NW 135 Street will occur from Cairo Lane to Sesame Street, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., for roadway striping.

The entrance ramp from NE 1 Avenue to westbound I-395 will also be closed during this time frame. 

Continuing Monday, August 8, between the hours of 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., one northbound and one southbound lane of SR 5/US 1/Overseas Highway will be intermittently closed from MM 75.0 to MM 77.0, Monday through Thursday nights, for the next four weeks for roadway paving. 

Drivers will experience lane and shoulder closures near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway. The closures are necessary to allow for testing the soil, surveying the area and conducting drainage work from Sunday, August 7, to Friday, August 12, 2022.

Beginning tonight, Wednesday, August 3 through Friday morning, August 5, one southbound lane of SR 5/US 1/Overseas Highway between MM 76.2 and MM 77.0, will be closed intermittently from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for roadway paving.  

On Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at least one eastbound and one westbound lane of SR 916/NW 135 Street will be closed from Cairo Lane to Sesame Street, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., for roadway paving. 

Drivers will experience lane and shoulder closures on and near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway. The closures are necessary to allow for testing the soil, surveying the area and conducting drainage work from Sunday, July 31, to Friday, August 5, 2022. 

On Thursday morning, August 4, 2022, a second lane on the eastbound SR 836 ramp to northbound I-95 will be opened as part of the I-395/SR 836/I-95 Design -Build Project. The additional lane, a major milestone for the project, will bring much needed relief to drivers in the area that are currently experiencing heavy congestion. The second lane will add capacity and increase mobility for drivers heading north on I-95.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host a public hearing, both in-person and virtually, for two roadway projects along SR 9A/I-95 from the Rickenbacker Causeway to SW 25 Road and from SR 90/SW 8 Street to SW 7 Street starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2022.

On Monday, August 1, 2022, all westbound lanes on I-395 will be closed at the Biscayne Boulevard (EXIT 2) Ramp between the hours of 11:45 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. All traffic will be detoured to the Biscayne Boulevard (Exit 2) ramp to access the detours shown click here. On Thursday, July 28, 2022, a section of eastbound and westbound SR 916/NW 135 Street will be temporarily closed from Cairo Lane to Sesame Street, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., to install a new mid-block pedestrian traffic signal mast arm west of Alexandria Drive.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host a public meeting, both in-person and virtually, for a roadway project along of SR 934/NW 79 Street from NW 27 Avenue to NW 1 Place, starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has rescheduled a roadway construction project along SR 9/NW 27 Avenue from NW 39 Street to SR 934/NW 79 Street to the week of August 22, 2022. The $5.8-million project is expected to be completed by fall 2023.

Beginning Thursday, July 21 through Friday, July 22, 2022, nighttime lane closures will occur along SR 959/NW 57 Avenue from NW 5 Street to NW 7 Street, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., for roadway striping.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has successfully completed a roadway project along SR 944/NW 54 Street at NW 14 Avenue and SR 25/NW 36 Street between NW 20 Avenue and NW 19 Avenue in the City of Miami. The project began in October 2021 and had a final cost of $582,000. Horsepower Electric, Inc. was the contractor. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of July 25, 2022. The project limits extend along SR 817/NW 27 Avenue from south of NW 203 Street to south of NW 215 Street and NW 27 Avenue at 19500 Block in Miami-Dade County. This project will cost an estimated $2.9 million and will take about nine months to complete. 

Beginning Monday night, July 18, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will continue work at several locations as part of the ITS replacement project. There will be nighttime closures along SR 826/Palmetto Expressway the following dates: 

Beginning at 9 a.m., Monday, July 18, 2022, one westbound lane along SR 976/SW 40 Street/Bird Road from east of Alhambra Circle to east of San Amaro Drive will be temporarily closed for stormwater drainage improvements. The closure will last about two months.

Drivers will experience lane and shoulder closures near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway while crews continue testing the soil and surveying the area from Monday, July 18, to Friday, July 22, 2022.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway construction project the week of July 18, 2022. The project limits extend along SR 9/NW 27 Avenue from NW 39 Street to SR 934/NW 79 Street in the City of Miami and Unincorporated Miami-Dade County. The project will cost an estimated $5.8 million and is expected to be completed by fall 2023.

The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA), in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), has scheduled to close NW 19 Avenue from NW 22 Street to NW 23 Streetin the City of Miami from 6 a.m., Wednesday, July 13through 6 a.m., Thursday, July 21, 2022, weather permitting. This detour is being established to allow workers to reconstruct the railroad crossing.

On Sunday, July 10, 2022, the northbound lanes along SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road will be closed from NW 186 Street and NW 137 Avenue between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. for approximately two months. All traffic will be detoured through the frontage road. The closure will allow the contractor to install drainage structures and lateral drainage pipes between NW 186 Street and NW 137 Avenue.

Beginning Monday night, July 11, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will continue work at several locations as part of the ITS replacement project. There will be nighttime closures along SR 826/Palmetto Expressway, SW 56 Street/Miller Drive and SW 24 Street/Coral Way the following dates:

On Monday, June 27, 2022, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) successfully completed a street lighting project along SR 90/SW 8 Street from SW 132 Avenue to SE 1 Avenue in the cities of West Miami, Miami, and Coral Gables. The eight-month project began in October 2021 and cost an estimated $651,721. 

On Thursday, July 7 and Monday, July 11 through Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at least one eastbound and one westbound travel lane along SR 112/Arthur Godfrey Road at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue will be closed, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., for nighttime roadway paving. 

On Thursday, July 7, 2022, at least one outside eastbound lane of SR 924/NW 119 Street will be closed past the standard lane opening hour of 3:30 p.m. to install traffic signal foundations at the SE corner of the intersection of NW 17 Avenue. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a lighting project the week of July 11, 2022, along SR 909/West Dixie Highway from NE 8 Avenue to NE 163 Street. The work will last roughly six months and will cost an estimated $331,947.

Beginning Wednesday, June 29 through Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at least one outside northbound and/or southbound lane of SR 7/NW 2 Avenue will be closed past the standard lane opening hour of 3:30 p.m. to install traffic signal foundations at the intersection of NW 183 Street/Miami Gardens Drive. Extended lane closures will not occur simultaneously.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host two Public Meetings for a Multimodal Study along SR A1A/Collins Avenue from W 41 Street to W 63 Street. The first meeting will be held in-person on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, starting at 5:30 p.m. and the second will be held virtually on Thursday, June 30, 2022 starting at 6 p.m. The same information will be shared at both events.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close both northbound and southbound lanes of SR 90/US 41/Brickell Avenue Bridge daily from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., starting Tuesday, June 28 through Friday, July 1, and from Tuesday, July 5 through Thursday, July 7, 2022, for maintenance in Miami-Dade County. 

On Tuesday morning, June 21 (Wednesday, June 22 is an alternate date), the eastbound SR 836 ramp lane to northbound I-95 will be shifted to the left side of the roadway onto the new concrete pavement. The existing ramp lane will be closed to traffic to allow the contractor to replace the bridge joints. Once the replacement of the bridge joints have been completed in late July 2022, the lane will reopen to traffic and the ramp to northbound I-95 will have two travel lanes. To complete the ramp lane shift, the following lane closures will be implemented:

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a bridge rehabilitation project the week of June 27, 2022. The project limits extend along SR 886/Port Boulevard over the Intracoastal Waterway. This project will cost an estimated $2.8 million and will take about 14 months to complete.

On Tuesday morning, June 21 (Wednesday, June 22 is an alternate date), the eastbound SR 836 ramp lane to northbound I-95 will be shifted to the left side of the roadway onto the new concrete pavement. The existing ramp lane will be closed to traffic to allow the contractor to replace the bridge joints. Once the replacement of the bridge joints have been completed in late July 2022, the lane will reopen to traffic and the ramp to northbound I-95 will have two travel lanes. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host an Alternatives Workshop for the Atlantic Isles at West of A1A (Bridge No. 874218) PD&E Study in the City of Sunny Isles Beach, in Miami-Dade County. The workshop will be held both in-person and virtually starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2022. The study will fully evaluate potential alternatives to improve the existing bridge structure, so that it is safe and functional for the traveling public.  

Beginning Sunday night, June 12, a single lane closure will occur on SR 5/US 1/Overseas Highway between MM 31.4 and MM 32.5 from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., to repave and restripe the road.

On Monday, May 23, 2022, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) successfully completed two lighting projects along SR 25/Okeechobee Road from W 18 Avenue to NE 2 Avenue and along SR 934/NW/NE 79 Street from Palm Avenue to NE 5 Avenue in the Cities of Hialeah, Miami Springs, and Miami. 

Tonight, Thursday, June 9, a single lane closure will occur on SR 5/US 1/Overseas Highway between MM 31.4 and MM 32.5 from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., to repave and restripe the road. 

On Monday, June 6, 2022, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) successfully completed the pedestrian safety project at the intersection of SR A1A/Collins Avenue and 189 Street, in the City of Sunny Isles Beach. The three-month project began in March 2022 and cost an estimated $220,700.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a landscape project on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. The project limits extend along SR 5/US 1/Overseas Highway from north of Boca Chica Channel (MM 6.494) to south of Rockland Channel (MM 9.519) in Monroe County. This project will cost an estimated $946,000 and will take about two years to complete. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has successfully completed the roadway and lighting project along State Road (SR) 989/Allapattah Road/SW 112 Avenue, from south of SR 5/US 1/S Dixie Highway to SW 248 Street. The one-year project began in July 2021 and cost an estimated $2.4 million.  FDOT completed the project before time and under budget with the support of the elected officials and the community. The contractor for this project was JVA Engineering Contractor, Inc.

Drivers will experience lane and shoulder closures near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Monday, May 9, to Friday, May 13, 2022, while crews continue surveying the area.

Beginning Sunday, May 8, through Monday, May 9, 2022, at least one northbound and one southbound travel lane along SR 907/Alton Road at the intersection of Chase Avenue will be closed, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., for nighttime roadway paving.

Beginning tonight, Wednesday, May 4 through Thursday, May 12, 2022, one inside travel lane along eastbound and westbound SR 924/NW 119 Street will be closed from NW 22 Avenue to NW 7 Avenue, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., for nighttime roadway paving.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a pedestrian safety project the week of Monday, May 9, 2022, along SR 916/NW 135 Street from Cairo Lane to Sesame Street. The work will last roughly four months and will cost an estimated $284,703.

Beginning Monday, May 2 through Thursday, June 30, 2022, travel lanes along SR 994/Quail Roost Drive from west of SW 127 Avenue to Homestead Avenue will be closed in both directions between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., for roadway paving. During this operation, at least one travel lane in each direction will remain open at all times.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host a meeting, both in-person and virtually, for two roadway projects along SR 970/SR 5/Downtown Distributor Ramps from South Miami Avenue to SE 2 Avenue and along SR 9A/I-95 from SR 90/SW 8 Street to SR 5/US 1/S Dixie Highway starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host a meeting, both in-person and virtually, for three roadway projects along SR 817/NW 27 Avenue from NW 135 Street to NW 187 Street starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022.

Drivers will experience lane and shoulder closures near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Monday, May 2, to Friday, May 6, 2022, while crews continue surveying the area. 

On Wednesday, April 27 and Thursday, April 28, the northbound lane on SR 5/US 1/Overseas Highway between MM 74.5 and MM 76.0 will be closed from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., to repave the shoulder. 

Beginning Wednesday, April 27 at 9:30 p.m. through 5:30 pm, Friday, April 29, 2022, the northbound travel lane along SR 5/US1/Overseas Highway at MM 74.5 will be closed to mill and resurface existing shoulders. 

Beginning Wednesday, April 27 at 9 p.m. through Monday, May 2, 2022, at 5:30 a.m., one outside travel lane of northbound SR 959/NW 57 Avenue at the intersection of NW 6 Street will be closed to construct a new traffic island. 

Drivers will experience lane and shoulder closures near SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Monday, April 25, to Friday, April 29, while crews survey the area. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a public meeting for the design project for SR 90/US 41/SW 8 Street at SW 109 Avenue Pedestrian Bridge and roadway improvements along SW 109 Avenue from SW 7 Terrace to SW 6 Street, in the City of Sweetwater. The in-person and virtualmeeting will be held simultaneously starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2022.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of April 25, 2022, along SR 959/NW 57 Avenue from NW 5 Street to NW 7 Street. The work will last roughly five months and will cost an estimated $489,616.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host virtual and in-person public meetings to provide interested parties with information regarding the proposed enhancements of the GGI Interchange. The project area consists of the following five major facilities: State Road (SR) 9A/I-95, SR 826/Palmetto Expressway, Florida’s Turnpike, SR 9 and SR 7/US 441/NW 7 Avenue in Miami-Dade County. Construction for the $472-million project is expected to begin in early 2024 and last about seven years.

The southbound I-95 ramp to eastbound I-395 and all southbound I-95 lanes will be closed as noted below: 

On Tuesday, April 19 and Wednesday, April 20, travel lanes through the intersections of SR A1A/Collins Avenue and 10 Street and 11 Street will be closed beyond 3:30 p.m. so workers can safely install concrete foundations for the new traffic signal mast arms at these intersections. 

Drivers will experience lane closures on SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Tuesday, April 19, to Thursday, April 21, while crews take soil samples.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin two roadway projects on Saturday, April 23, 2022. The project limits extend along State Road (SR) 5/US 1/Overseas Highway from Mile Marker (MM) 31.4 to MM 32.5 in Big Pine Key, and from MM 32.98 to MM 36.57 in Scout Key and Bahia Honda Key, in Monroe County. These projects will cost an estimated $6.3 M, and they will take roughly one year to complete.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close both northbound and southbound lanes of SR 90/US 41/Brickell Avenue Bridge daily from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., starting Monday, April 25 through Friday, April 29, 2022, for maintenance in Miami-Dade County. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project on Saturday, April 23, 2022. The project limits extend along SR 5/US 1/Overseas Highway from south of Tollgate Boulevard Mile Marker (MM) 73.75 to Lignumvitae Channel (MM 77.5) and from MM 70.0 to MM 80.0in Monroe County. The work will last roughly sixteen months and will cost an estimated $18.1 million.

Drivers will experience lane closures on SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Sunday, April 17, to Tuesday, April 19, while crews take soil samples.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host a Public Meeting, both in-person and virtually, for a reconstruction project along SR 25/US 27/ Okeechobee Road from east of NW 107 Avenue to east of NW 116 Way/Hialeah Gardens Boulevard, starting at 6 p.m., on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.

The following closures on I-95, I-395, SR 836, adjacent ramps and local roads will be scheduled as noted below: 

All westbound lanes along the SR 826/Sunny Isles Boulevard/NE 163 Street over the Intracoastal Highway bridge are currently closed due to repairs. Motorists traveling westbound will be detoured through the Business Loop. The bridge is only open for pedestrians. The eastbound lanes along the bridge remain open. Please use alternate routes.

On Thursday evening, April 7, 2022, the southbound I-95 ramp to eastbound I-395 will be closed between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., and all southbound I-95 lanes will be closed at SR 836 between the hours of 1 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. The closure will allow the contractor to work on the ongoing widening of the east-bound SR 836 ramp to northbound I-95 from one lane to two lanes. Drivers can use the detour routes below.

Beginning Sunday, April 10 through Friday, May 6, 2022, two travel lanes will be closed nightly along SR 112/I-195/Julia Tuttle Causeway for maintenance. Bridge work will take place along the western side of Biscayne Bay, in the City of Miami. The lane closures will be approximately one mile, beginning near Martell Park. Lane closures will occur in one direction at a time, beginning with the eastbound lanes and then westbound lanes.

Drivers will experience extensive lane closures and detours on SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from Friday, April 8 to Monday, April 11, while workers relocate express lane markers (ELMs) and restripe the road in order to shift southbound traffic on Monday morning, April 11. 

The Florida East Coast Railway (FEC), in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will close the SR 7/ NW 7 Avenue railroad crossing just north of NW 72 Street in the City of Miami from 6 a.m., Sunday, April 10 through 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2022. This detour is being established to allow workers to replace the railroad tracks and repave the area.

Beginning Sunday, April 3 through Thursday, April 28, 2022, travel lanes along SR 994/Quail Roost Drive from west of SW 127 Avenue to Homestead Avenue will be closed in both directions between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., for roadway paving. During this operation, at least one travel lane in each direction will remain open at all times. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host a public information meeting for the Palmetto Expressway Capacity Project from south of NW 36 Street to north of NW 154 Street/Miami Lakes Drive. The in-person and virtual meeting will be held simultaneously, starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.

The Florida East Coast Railway (FEC), in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will close the SR 9 /NW 27 Avenue railroad crossing just north of NW 73 Street in the City of Miami from 6 a.m., Tuesday, April 5 through 11:59 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2022. This detour is being established to allow workers to replace the railroad tracks and repave the area.

The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA), in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), has scheduled to close NW 30 Avenue from NW 22 Street to NW 23 Terracein Miami-Dade County from 3 p.m., Wednesday, April 6through 4 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2022, weather permitting. This detour is being established to allow workers to reconstruct the railroad crossing.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has scheduled lane closures along SR 112/W 41 Street/Arthur Godfrey Road Bridge over the Indian Creek Canal from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Monday, April 4 through Friday, April 8, 2022, for maintenance. During this work, at least one lane in each direction will remain open at all times. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host a meeting, both in-person and virtually, for a roadway project along SR 994/Quail Roost Drive/SW 200 Street from Krome Avenue to SW 137 Avenue starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2022.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a public information meeting to provide an update on an ongoing intersection project along NE 203 Street/Ives Dairy Road in Miami-Dade County. The in-person and virtual meeting will be held simultaneously starting at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2022. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a landscape project the week of March 23, 2022, along SR 847/NW 47 Avenue from NW 183 Street to Premier Parkway in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. The project will cost an estimated $499,403 and is anticipated to be completed by summer 2024.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of March 14, along SR 924/NW 119 Street/Gratigny Road from NW 27 Avenue to NW 7 Avenue. The work will last roughly 13 months and will cost an estimated $4.1 million.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of March 18, 2022, along SR 7/NW 2 Avenue from NW 183 Street/Miami Gardens Drive to NW 188 Street. The work will last about six months and cost an estimated $777,777.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host a meeting, both in-person and virtually, for a roadway project along SR 5/US 1/S Dixie Highway from SW 100 Street to SW 88 Street starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a capacity project the week of March 14, 2022, along SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from south of NW 36 Street to north of NW 154 Street/Miami Lakes Drive. This project will cost an estimated $66.05 million and will take approximately 30 months to complete.

On Friday, March 4, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Six, in partnership with Miami-Dade County and regional transit providers celebrated the completion of the GGMTF Project and its grand opening with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

Beginning Sunday, March 6 through Monday, March 7, 2022, travel lanes through the intersection of SR 5/US 1/Overseas Highway will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., while workers stripe the road. During this work, at least one lane will remain open at all times and flaggers will direct traffic through the area.

Starting Wednesday, March 2, the off ramp outside lane and shoulder of SR 112/I-195/Julia Tuttle Causeway westbound to Biscayne Boulevard will be closed for maintenance work underneath the bridge. During this closure, one lane will remain open at all times. This closure will last about two weeks. 

One westbound lane at two locations will be closed tonight along SR 826/Palmetto Expressway to perform survey work as part of the design of an Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) project in Miami-Dade County. Lane closures will take place at the following locations:

On Tuesday, February 22, 2022, all westbound travel lanes on SR 836 will be closed from NW 12 Avenue to NW 17 Avenue between 1 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., and on Friday, February 25, all eastbound SR 836 travel lanes will be closed from NW 17 Avenue to NW 12 Avenue between the hours of 1 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. On Tuesday, February 22 through Friday, February 25, 2022, all lanes on North Miami Avenue will be closed nightly from NE 13 Street to just south of I-395 between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close the westbound ramp from SR 913/Rickenbacker Causeway to northbound I-95 and southbound SR 5/US 1 daily from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., from Tuesday, March 1 through Friday, March 4, 2022, for routine maintenance.

The project will cost an estimated$267,936 and will take roughly two years to be completed. The installation of trees is expected to take several months before the project moves into the establishment phase.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close the outside northbound lane on SR 90/US 41/Brickell Avenue Bridge from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, for maintenance and deck repairs in Miami-Dade County. Beginning Monday, November 8 through Tuesday, November 9, 2021, travel lanes through the intersection of SR 953/LeJeune Road and E 32 Street will be closed between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6:30 a.m., to restripe the road. 

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host an in-person and virtual public meeting on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for the SR 826/Sunny Isles Boulevard/NE 163 Street Intracoastal Waterway Bridge Rehabilitation and Roadway Project (bridge numbers 870592 and 870593), from NE 35 Avenue in North Miami Beach to SR A1A/Collins Avenue in Sunny Isles Beach.

The following closures on I-95, I-395, SR 836, adjacent ramps and local roads will be scheduled as noted below.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) installed a new bike box at the intersection of SR 968/SW 1 Street and SW 2 Avenue. A bike box is a green pavement marking installed at intersections to reduce conflicts between people bicycling and driving.

The following closures on I-95, I-395, SR 836, adjacent ramps and local roads will be scheduled as noted below: 

Brightline will close the railroad crossing located on NE 203 Street Between Biscayne Boulevard and West Dixie Highway from 10 a.m. Friday, October 29 through 5 a.m. Monday, November 1, 2021, weather permitting.

All travel lanes on SR 836 will be closed from NW 17 Avenue to NW 12 Avenue as noted below:

CSX Transportation, Inc., in coordination Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works, is scheduled to close the NW 107 Avenue r ailroad crossing located just south of NW 12 Streetfrom 5a.m. Friday, October 22 through 6 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2021, weather permitting in the City of Sweetwater. During this closure, all traffic will be detoured away from the crossing and directed to follow signs to alternate local streets. This detour will allow workers to reconstruct the railroad crossing.

On Thursday, October 14, all travel lanes on SR 836 will be closed from NW 17 Avenue to NW 12 Avenue between the hours of 11:45 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of October 18, 2021. The project limits extend along SR 944/NW 54 Street at NW 14 Avenue and SR 25/NW 36 Street between NW 20 Avenue and NW 19 Avenue. This project will cost an estimated $608,490 and will take about five months to complete.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of October 11, 2021. Work will take place along SR112/I-195/Julia Tuttle Causeway from east of SR 5/US 1/Biscayne Boulevard to SR 907/Alton Road in the cities of Miami and Miami Beach. The project will cost an estimated $405,802 and is scheduled to be completed in fall 2021.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host two public hearings to present its Five-Year Tentative Work Program for fiscal years 2022/2023 through 2026/2027. Projects programmed to improve transportation infrastructure in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties over the next five years will be highlighted at these hearings. The meetings will be held both in-person and virtually on Thursday, October 14 and Monday, October 18 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will close NW 12 Avenue from NW 20 Street to NW 23 Street in Miami-Dade County from 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 13through 4 a.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021, weather permitting. This detour is being established to allow workers to reconstruct the railroad crossing.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will host a meeting, both in-person and virtually, for a roadway project along SR A1A/Harding Avenue/Abbott Avenue from north of 96 Street to Indian Creek Drive from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a lighting project the week of October 11, 2021, along SR 90/SW 8 Street from SW 132 Avenue to SE 1 Avenue. The project will cost an estimated $651,721.

On Tuesday morning, September 28, the ramp from westbound I-395 to northbound I-95 will be closed and traffic will be shifted to a temporary single-lane ramp on the left side of the road. Variable Message Signs (VMS) will direct drivers going west on I-395 who want to go north on I-95 to the new temporary ramp.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has successfully completed the SR 922/NE 125 Street intersection project at NE 10 Avenue in the City of North Miami. The seven-month project began in February 2021 and cost an estimated $589,600. This project was completed on time and under budget with the support of elected officials and the community.

On Saturday September 18, The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is joining forces with the Village of Pinecrest to bring awareness to bicycle safety in the community. This event will take place from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Pinecrest Elementary School, 10250 SW 57 Avenue.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin the next segment of the SR 997/SW 177 Avenue/Krome Avenue Landscape Project on September 20, 2021. The segment limits will extend from SW 136 Street to SW 88 Street in Miami-Dade County. The installation of trees along the median and swales on Krome Avenue is already underway from SW 232 Street and SW 136 Street.

The project limits extend along SR 994/Quail Roost Drive/SW 186 Street/SW 200 Street, from west of SW 127 Avenue to SR 5/US 1/S. Dixie Highway. The project will cost an estimated $4.1 million.

The closure of the North Bayshore Drive Ramp to eastbound MacArthur Causeway scheduled for this morning, Wednesday September 1 has been rescheduled to Thursday morning, September 2 due to weather.

On Friday August 27, The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) hosted a multi-agency press conference urging motorists to follow the Move Over Law and announcing the recent amendment that covers additional service vehicles on the roadways. The event was followed by an enforcement detail led by Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) Troop E. A total of nine law enforcement agencies participated in this important safety event.
