FDOT Completes SR 5/US 1/Overseas Highway Roadway Project in the Lower Florida Keys
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) successfully completed a safety and resiliency roadway project along State Road (SR) 5/US 1/Overseas Highway in the Florida Keys. Construction included several islands in Monroe County, Florida: Sugarloaf Key from Mile Marker (MM) 19.4 to MM 19.8, Cudjoe Key from MM 20.6 to MM 23.1 and Ramrod Key from MM 26.2 to MM 27.4. Work began in October 2023 and the project cost approximately $17.4 million. FDOT, along with its contractor General Asphalt Company LLC, finished the project on time and within budget.
