Connectivity Assessment
Welcome

FDOT District Six is working with our Miami-Dade County partners to create a safe, connected, and accessible countywide bicycle network. In 2022 FDOT has finalized the Miami-Dade Connectivity Assessment to build upon previous efforts by focus on cohesiveness and connectivity. The Assessment establishes a clear vision of the future system and provides guidance for prioritization to attain successful implementation. Moving forward, FDOT aims to foster strong and committed partnerships with local communities and leaders as well as County, State, and local agencies to implement a low-stress system of interconnected bicycle facilities. This Assessment is the basemap that links Miami-Dade Communities and will continue as a living document, which will receive modifications to proposed connections based on future feasibility analysis, agency and public feedback.

In Summary, this Connectivity Assessment places a focus on:

1
Utilizing the County’s Greenways and Trails as the bicycle expressways
2
Filling the gaps within our existing bicycle network
3
The implementation of dedicated facilities
4
Understanding the infrastructural needs of the “Interested but Concerned” Cyclists Group
5
Providing direct connections to destinations for Cyclists
6
Examine Road Dieting and Repurposing opportunities for implementation

Individual Municipality Packets

Each municipality within Miami-Dade County will receive their own information packet regarding the proposed network in relation to their jurisdiction. Within these packets is an abridged description of this Assessment, with an emphasis on the Core Concepts. Static maps will include all proposed projects within individual municipal boundaries, highlighting priority projects for the area and anticipated jurisdiction of each project. This map is accompanied with a project bank table offering additional details for each alignment.
