The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for reconstruction on SR 25/Okeechobee Road from east of NW 87 Avenue to east of NW 79 Avenue, in Miami-Dade County.
WORK TO BE PERFORMED:
- Reconstructing SR 25/Okeechobee Road using rigid pavement
- Widening SR 25/Okeechobee Road to provide additional capacity
- Widening the bridges on SR 826 SB Ramp and on NW 79 Avenue over the Miami (C-6) Canal
- Modifying the intersection of NW 95 Street and Frontage Road
- Providing new access from Frontage Road to westbound SR 25/Okeechobee Road
MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC (MOT):
The MOT will be designed to minimize adverse impacts to local residents and businesses during construction. Detours and temporary lane closures during non-peak hours will have minimal effects on traffic.
PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six conducted a public hearing for the above referenced project from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Westland Gardens Park, located at 13501 NW 107 Avenue, Hialeah Gardens, FL 33018. The public hearing began as an open house at 6:00 p.m., with a formal presentation at 6:30 p.m. Graphic displays were shown and FDOT representatives were available to discuss the project and answer questions.
