The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for a roadway project along State Road (SR) 953/LeJeune Road/SW-NW 42 Avenue from SW 8 Street to NW 11 Street, in Miami-Dade County.
WORK TO BE PERFORMED:
- Providing a southbound left-turn and U-turn movements at SW 5 Terrace
- Closing median openings at SW 4 Street and SW 2 Terrace
- Adding a northbound directional median opening at SW 2 Street
- Closing two abandoned driveways at NW 4 Street
- Repaving and restriping the road
- Improving stormwater drainage system
- Replacing traffic signal at the NE corner of Flagler Street
- Upgrading signs and pavement markings
- Replacing all pedestrian push buttons
- Enhancing traffic signals
- Updating lighting
- Relocating palm trees
MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC
During construction, temporary lane closures during non-peak hours and detours may affect traffic. Access to adjacent businesses and residences will be maintained.
Public Meeting:
FDOT will host a Hybrid Public Meeting for those interested in learning more about this design project.
