The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) began a roadway project on December 5, 2022 along State Road (SR) 5/US 1/South Dixie Highway in Miami-Dade County.
WORK TO BE PERFORMED:
- Replacing traffic signals mast arms at the intersection of SW 72 Street/Sunset Drive, SW 70 Street, Alhambra Circle, and Stanford Drive
- Constructing traffic islands at the intersection of SW 62 Avenue, SW 71 Street, and Santona Street
- Extending the left turn lane from northbound SR 5/US 1 to westbound SW 72 Street/Sunset Drive
- Upgrading vehicular and pedestrian signals, signage, and pavement markings
- Reconstructing pedestrian sidewalks, curb ramps, and curb and gutters
- Replacing existing guardrail
- Rehabilitating the bridge over the Coral Gables Waterway (Bridge #870019)
LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION:
Travel lanes and sidewalks shall be closed only during non-peak hours on non-event days. Non-peak hours are:
- 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays and weekends
- 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights
- 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., Friday and Saturday nights
DETOUR INFORMATION:
Pedestrian and vehicular detours will be established at times as needed. Specific detour information will be provided before the corresponding construction activity is scheduled.
