About
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) began a roadway project on January 6, 2025 along State Road (S.R.) 5/U.S. 1/ Biscayne Boulevard from south of NE 5 Street to NE 11 Street, in Miami-Dade County.

  • Upgrading the existing stormwater pump system

  • Reconstructing pedestrian curb ramps, damaged sidewalks and upgrading vehicular signals, signage and pavement markings

  • Upgrading drainage pipes to improve capacity

 


 

SUPPLY CHAIN

  • Repaving and restriping to preserve the service life of the road

 


 

TECHNOLOGY

  • Installing pavement traffic detectors to identify vehicles at traffic signals

 


 

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

  • This project creates opportunities for contractors, which results in positive economic benefits for the workers and the community

LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION

Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community. Lanes can be closed during the following hours on non-event days:

  • 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., daily

No construction activities will occur from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., except during repaving and restriping work which will occur:

  • 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday
  • 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., Friday and Saturday
