Welcome
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) started a pedestrian safety project the week of April 1, 2024, on State Road (SR) 5/US 1/N. Roosevelt Boulevard. This project improves traffic flow and pedestrian safety by coordinating the crosswalk signal with the traffic signal at the nearby intersections of Kennedy Drive/Sigsbee Road and Overseas Market.
WORK PERFORMED:
- The Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons (PHB) were replaced with Midblock Pedestrian Signals (MPS), a standard 3-section traffic signal
- The MPS will be synchronized with the nearby intersections at Kennedy Drive/Sigsbee Road, and Overseas Market
- Audible Pedestrian Signals (APS) were added to coincide with visual signals to assist those with visual disabilities
