The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) began two bridge and roadway projects in August 2025, along State Road (SR) A1A/Collins Avenue from 44 Street to 4700 Block, Indian Creek Drive from 41 Street to 44 Street and SR 112/W 41 Street over the Indian Creek Waterway Bridge in Miami-Dade County.

COMMUNITY

  • Upgrading pedestrian ramps and crossings at signalized intersections

 


 

SAFETY

  • Adding a second right turn lane from southbound Indian Creek Drive to westbound SR 112/41 Street 
  • Shifting the median along Indian Creek Drive to allow for the new turn lane
  • Adding a second right turn lane from southbound Indian Creek Drive to westbound SR 112/41 Street 
  • Shifting the median along Indian Creek Drive to allow for the new turn lane
  • Adding signalization at Indian Creek Drive for the southbound dual right turn lane
  • Reconstructing sidewalks, curb and gutter

 

RESILIENCY

  • Repairing the SR 112/W 41 Street bridge deck and structural steel
  • Rehabilitating the SR 112/W 41 Street bridge elements, deck expansion joints, concrete and improving bridge handrails
  • Relocating and trimming existing landscape along SR A1A/Collins Avenue from 44 Street to 4700 Block
  • Repaving and restriping the road
  • Installing new pavement markings

 

TECHNOLOGY

  • Upgrading existing light poles with light-emitting diodes (LED)


 

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

  • FDOT employs local contractors in an effort to provide positive economic benefits to the community

 


LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION

Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects to the community. Temporary lane closures may affect traffic during non-peak hours. Pedestrian detours will be established with clear signage. Access to adjacent properties will be maintained.Travel lanes and sidewalks will be closed during non-peak hours on non-event days. 

Single lane closures along SR A1A/Collins Avenue may occur:

  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday - Thursday
  • 6:30 p.m. to 12 a.m., Monday - Thursday
     

Dual lane closures along SR A1A/Collins Avenue may occur:

  • 9:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., for northbound lanes Monday - Thursday 
  • 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., for southbound lanes Monday - Thursday
     

Single lane closures along SR A1A/Indian Creek Drive can may occur:

  • 9:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., for northbound lanes Monday - Thursday
  • 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for southbound lanes Monday - Thursday

Bridge work and lane closures will be performed during nighttime work hours:

  • 8 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Sunday - Thursday
