The Florida Department of Transportation District Six is dedicated to achieving the goals set forth by Secretary Thibault's focus on the Vital Few including improving safety, enhancing mobility, and inspiring innovation. FDOT promotes safety and mobility for non-motorized road users by planning for safe and connected facilities that accommodate bicyclists and pedestrians. Miami-Dade Bicycle Network Plan
FDOT District Six is working with our Miami-Dade County partners to create a safe, connected, and accessible countywide bicycle network. The Miami-Dade Bicycle Network Plan builds upon previous efforts by focusing on cohesiveness and connectivity. The plan aims to establish a clear vision of the future system and provides guidance for prioritization to attain successful implementation. Strong and committed partnerships with local communities and leaders as well as County, State, and local agencies are needed to develop a low-stress system of interconnected bicycle facilities. This plan is the basemap that links everyone. This plan will exist as a living document and will receive modifications to proposed connections based on feasibility.
An Online Interactive Application was created to display data pertaining to the Miami-Dade Bicycle Network.
