The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for a roadway and bridge project along State Road (SR) A1A/Collins Avenue from 44 Street to 4700 Block and Indian Creek from 41 Street to 44 Street and SR 112/W 41 Street over the Indian Creek Waterway Bridge, in Miami-Dade County.
WORK TO BE PERFORMED:
SR A1A/Collins Avenue from 44 Street to 4700 Block and Indian Creek from 41 Street to 44 Street:
- Eliminating parking to make way for a second right turn lane from southbound SR A1A to westbound 41 Street
- Adding signalization at 41 Street for the southbound dual right turn lanes
- Upgrading pedestrian crossings at signalized intersections
- Repaving and restriping the road
- Upgrading pedestrian ramps
- Reconstructing damaged sidewalk and curb and gutter
- Adjusting existing manholes and valves
- Upgrading signage
- Providing bicycle facilities
- Relocating and trimming existing landscape
- Enhancing drainage
SR 112/W 41 Street over the Indian Creek Waterway Bridge:
- Repairing the bridge deck
- Rehabilitating the bridge elements and deck expansion joints
- Improving handrails
MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC
During construction, temporary lane closures during non-peak hours and detours may affect traffic. Access to adjacent businesses and residences will be maintained.
