The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for a roadway project at the intersection of State Road (SR) 5/US 1 and SW 137 Avenue, in Miami-Dade County.
WORK TO BE PERFORMED:
- Modifying access to Tropical Avenue to right turn only and constructing a traffic separator
- Relocating the U-turn movement south of the intersection
- Extending the traffic separator to increase left turn storage
- Adding a northbound left turn movement towards to the west
- Enhancing pedestrian ramps, signs and pavement markings
- Adding a new traffic light
- Repaving and restriping the roadway
- Relocating existing drainage and landscape
- Upgrading lighting
MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC:
During construction, temporary lane closures during non-peak hours and detours may affect traffic. Access will be maintained. Flaggers will be used to control traffic flow.
