The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) began a roadway improvement project on September 11, 2023 along SR 915/NE 6 Avenue from NE 123 Street to NE 154 Street and SR 922/NW/NE 125 Street from NW 1 Avenue to NE 5 Avenue in Miami-Dade County.
WORK TO BE PERFORMED
SR 915/NE 6 Avenue from NE 123 Street to NE 154 Street
- Repaving and restriping the roadway
- Adjusting manholes and valves
- Reconstructing damaged sidewalk and curb and gutter
- Closing two abandoned driveways
- Installing new streetlights
- Upgrading signing and pavement markings and street signs
- Modifying the median from NE 135 Street to NE 145 Street
- Upgrading traffic signals
Pedestrian and Signal Improvements
- Upgrading pedestrian signals
- Reconstructing and upgrading pedestrian signs and curb ramps
- Improving lighting at the mid-block pedestrian crossings located north of NE 136 Street
- Adding a new traffic signal at the intersection of SR 915/NE 6 Avenue and NE 147 Street
- Installing two pedestrian signals and median refuges on NE 6 Avenue just north of NE 150 Street and just north of NE 154 Street
SR 922/NW/NE 125 Street from NW 1 Avenue to NE 5 Avenue
- Repaving and restriping the roadway
- Adjusting manholes and valves
- Upgrading all pedestrian signs and curb ramps
- Upgrading signage and pavement markings with special emphasis crosswalk
- Upgrading traffic signals
LANE CLOSURE AND DETOUR INFORMATION
To do this work safely, it will be necessary to close travel lanes and establish detours at times during non-peak hours:
- 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Weekdays and Weekends
- 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights
- 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., Friday and Saturday nights
Detours may be necessary to perform this work.
One lane along NE 6 Avenue between NE 125 Street and NE 154 Street may be closed between the hours of 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
There may be sidewalk detours in the areas of work. Pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the nearest pedestrian crosswalk.
