The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) began the construction of a design-build ITS replacement project during the week of May 9, 2021. This project will replace and update ITS devices throughout Miami-Dade County.
WORK TO BE PERFORMED
- Replacing ITS cabinets
- Upgrading and migrating ITS devices to current standards
- Replacing Dynamic Message Signs (DMS)
- Replacing Closed Circuit Television Cameras (CCTV) and installing new poles
PROJECT SCHEDULE
Design Began: July 12, 2021
Construction Duration: spring 2022 - spring 2024
LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION
Travel lanes shall be closed only during nonpeak hours on nonevent days. Nonpeak hours are:
- 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights
- 10 p.m. to 8 a.m., Friday and Saturday night
Tomorrow, Saturday April 13, there will be two northbound lanes closed along US 1 just north of Killian Drive to replace the DMS structure bolts from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
