TRANSPORTATION

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) began a roadway project the week of November 28, 2022 along SR A1A/Collins Avenue in Miami-Dade County.

WORK TO BE PERFORMED

• Repaving and restriping the roadway
• Widening the roadway to provide a continuous bicycle facility
• Modifying the Haulover Park entrances on the west side of SR A1A/Collins Avenue
• Upgrading guardrails at pedestrian tunnels and Haulover bridge
• Reconstructing sidewalk and curb ramps at Haulover Park entrances, pedestrian tunnels, and median curbs
• Improving drainage
• Constructing a shared-use path on the east side and six-foot sidewalk segments on the west side of SR A1A/Collins Avenue
• Constructing a new signalized intersection at the Haulover Park entrance south of the lifeguard station
• Upgrading traffic signs
• Installing markings for bicycle use along the paved shoulders
• Installing sea turtle lighting
• Relocating trees in conflict with proposed paths

LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION
Travel lanes may be closed only during nonpeak hours on nonevent days. Nonpeak hours are:

• 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays and weekends
• 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday
• 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., Friday and Saturday
