Welcome
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) began a roadway project the week of November 28, 2022 along SR A1A/Collins Avenue in Miami-Dade County.
WORK TO BE PERFORMED
- Repaving and restriping the roadway
- Widening the roadway to provide a continuous bicycle facility
- Modifying the Haulover Park entrances on the west side of SR A1A/Collins Avenue
- Upgrading guardrails at pedestrian tunnels and Haulover bridge
- Reconstructing sidewalk and curb ramps at Haulover Park entrances, pedestrian tunnels, and median curbs
- Improving drainage
- Constructing a shared-use path on the east side and six-foot sidewalk segments on the west side of SR A1A/Collins Avenue
- Constructing a new signalized intersection at the Haulover Park entrance south of the lifeguard station
- Upgrading traffic signs
- Installing markings for bicycle use along the paved shoulders
- Installing sea turtle lighting
- Relocating trees in conflict with proposed paths
LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION
Travel lanes may be closed only during nonpeak hours on nonevent days. Nonpeak hours are:
- 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays and weekends
- 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday
- 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., Friday and Saturday
