The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for a repaving and safety improvement project along State Road (SR) 5/US 1/S Dixie Highway from SW 336 Street to SW 304 Street, in Miami-Dade County. 


  • Installing a raised traffic median to prevent left turns from SW 320 Street/E Mowry Drive onto SR 5
  • Eliminating the northbound and southbound left-turn and through movements at the intersection of NE 6 Avenue 
  • Upgrading pedestrian crosswalks and signals
  • Modifying left-turn lanes at the intersections of SW 33300 block and SW 328 Street/Lucy Street
  • Repaving and restriping the roadway


Temporary lane closures will occur during non-peak hours and will have minimum impacts on traffic. Access to all businesses will be maintained during construction.
