Welcome

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for a safety improvement project along State Road (SR) 5/US 1/ South Dixie Highway at SW 200 Street/Caribbean Boulevard, in Miami-Dade County.

WORK TO BE PERFORMED:

  • Providing high emphasis crosswalks at the intersection
  • Adding median with landscape and steel loop fence
  • Removing existing 4-foot wide traffic separator and reduce lane widths to provide wider median
  • Installing pedestrian signage
  • Repaving and restriping the roadway
  • Adding lighting to the northwest and southwest corner of the intersection

MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC (MOT):

Traffic lanes and sidewalks will be closed at times for safety reasons. There will always be one traffic lane open and lane closures will take place during daytime hours.
