South Florida Roads (Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties)

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has begun a bridge rehabilitation project along State Road (SR) A1A/Collins Avenue at Baker Haulover Cut Bridge in Miami-Dade County.

  • Cleaning and painting all structural steel
  • Repairing deteriorated concrete elements such as deck and columns
  • Strengthening selected bridge members such as beams
  • Replacing bridge bearings and seawalls

To do this work safely, it will be necessary to close travel lanes and establish detours at times. Lanes may be closed during non-peak hours:

  • 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays and weekends

Most of the work will take place under the bridge. Some areas of sidewalk and access roads under the bridge may be temporarily closed during the work.

Detour signs will be set up to help guide pedestrians and motorists around the work zone.

Lane closure and project information will be posted weekly on the department’s website.

The parking lot under the bridge may be closed at times while work is being performed.
