436565-1-52-01, 423251-3-52-01 : SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Rd from E of NW 87 Ave to NW 74 Ave, including SR 826/Palmetto Expy

  • The dedicated right-turn lane, along NW South River Dr, to access the southbound SR 826/Palmetto Expressway on-ramp has been removed. Motorists will still be able to make right turn to access the on-ramp from the remaining travel lane. This removal will allow the crew to perform bridge demolition and widening.

  • One northbound thru lane and one right-turn lane on NW South River Drive at the northbound S.R. 826/Palmetto Expressway off-ramp have been removed.

    Lanes are reduced to one lane in each direction for approximately eight months while bridge reconstruction work is completed.

  • General Lane Closures

    Closures may take place during the following hours:

    • 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays and weekends.
    • 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on weekdays.
    • 11 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. on weekends.

  • Various travel lane shifts have taken place along S.R. 25/U.S. 27/Okeechobee Road to allow for the expansion of the work zone. The dates and locations are as follows:

    • Westbound lanes along S.R. 25/U.S. 27/Okeechobee Road from S.R. 826/Palmetto Expressway to east of W. 18 Avenue will be shifted to the north.
    • Eastbound lanes along S.R. 25/U.S. 27/Okeechobee Road from east of W. 18 Avenue to S.R. 826/Palmetto Expressway will be shifted to the north.
    • Ramp from Okeechobee Road to northbound S.R. 826/Palmetto Expressway will be shifted to the north.
    • Exit lanes along the northbound S.R. 826/Palmetto Expressway off-ramp will be reduced from two to one lane. Lanes along NW South River Drive will remain the same.

  • The eastbound lane along NW South River Dr between NW 91 Terr and NW 79 Ave is fully closed. This closure allows the crew to start the reconstruction of NW South River Dr.

    The closure will be in place through Fall 2026. Access to adjacent businesses and neighborhoods will be maintained at all times through NW 91 Terrace and NW 90 Street.

    The following traffic patterns are in place:

    • Westbound NW South River Drive will remain open to traffic.
    • Motorists traveling along eastbound NW South River Drive, approaching NW 79 Avenue, wishing to access Okeechobee Road in both directions, will be detoured as follows:
      • Make a right on NW 93 Terrace
      • Turn left on NW 82 Avenue
      • Make a left on NW 90 Street
      • A left on NW 79 Avenue
      • Continue past the intersection of NW South River Drive and NW 79 Avenue, to access Okeechobee Road in both directions.
    • Motorists traveling along eastbound NW South River Drive, approaching NW 79 Avenue, wishing to continue along eastbound NW South River Drive or access the southbound SR 826/Palmetto Expressway on-ramp, will be detoured as follows:
      • Make a right on NW 93 Terrace
      • Turn left on NW 82 Avenue
      • Make a left on NW 90 Street
      • A left on NW 79 Avenue
      • Make a right on NW South River Drive to continue along east or access southbound SR 826/Palmetto Expressway on-ramp

  • Various lane reductions and traffic shifts have taken place as part of the S.R. 25/U.S. 27/Okeechobee Road Reconstruction Project. These shifts are necessary to allow crews to perform drainage and sidewalk improvements and expand the construction work zone. The new traffic patterns will be in place until Fall 2026.

    The dates and locations are as follows:

    • Right turn lane from northbound NW 79 Avenue to eastbound S.R. 25/U.S. 27/Okeechobee Road will be temporarily removed.
    • Travel lanes along W 18 Avenue between S.R. 25/U.S. 27/Okeechobee and W 35 Street will be shifted to the east, and lanes will be reduced from two to one lane in each direction.

  • Travel lanes in both directions along NW 95 Street between Frontage Road and NW 80 Avenue will be closed to traffic continuously. Travel lanes are expected to reopen to traffic on Friday, July 17 2026, at 5:30 a.m.

    This closure is necessary to allow crews to reconstruct NW 95 Street and pour the concrete pavement. Please use caution and follow the posted signage. Detours will be in place.

  • NW South River Drive in both directions, between the southbound S.R. 826/Palmetto Expressway on-ramp and the northbound S.R. 826/Palmetto Expressway off-ramp, will be closed to allow crews to install sheet piles for ramp construction.

    Travel lanes are expected to reopen daily by 5:30 a.m. This nightly closure will remain in place through Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

429346-4-52-01 : S.R. 916/NW/NE 135 Street from NW 2 Avenue to NE 17 Avenue/Tressler Street

  • LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION

    Lane closures shall occur only during non-peak hours or on non-event days/weekends. Non-peak hours are:

    • In the eastbound direction:
    • 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., within the limits of the school zone
    • 10:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., while school zone is active
    • In the westbound direction:
    • 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. within the limits of a school zone
    • 5 a.m. to 6:45 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., while school zone is active

    Lane closures shall not be permitted during school speed zone hours where such closures will affect traffic flow in the vicinity of the school speed zones.

445996-1-52-01 : S.R. 5/U.S. 1/Biscayne Boulevard from NE 61 Street to NE 6 Avenue

  • LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION

    • Up to one southbound or northbound lane along S.R. 5/Biscayne Boulevard will be closed (as needed) from NE 61 Street to NE 64 Street between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and at night between 11:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m.
    • Up to one southbound or northbound lane along S.R. 5/Biscayne Boulevard will be closed (as needed) from NE 64 Street to NE 6 Avenue between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and at night between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.

  • LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION

    Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community.

    Lanes can be closed during the following hours

    Weekdays, nights and weekends: 

    • 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
    • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    Stormwater drainage work closures will be in place:

    • 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights

    Roadway lane closures and detours will be established during any overhead work and as necessary to ensure safety during construction.

  • I-395 MAINLINE LANE CLOSURES

    Wednesday, July 1 and Sunday, July 5 through Friday, July 10 - One lane on mainline eastbound I-395 will be closed as needed from I-95 to Biscayne Boulevard between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. 

    Wednesday, July 1 and Sunday, July 5 through Friday, July 10​​​​​​​ - Up to two lanes on mainline westbound I-395 will be closed as needed from Biscayne Boulevard to I-95 between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

  • S.R. 836 LANE CLOSURES

    Wednesday, July 1 and Sunday, July 5 through Friday, July 10 - Two eastbound lanes on S.R. 836 from NW 17 Avenue to I-95 will be closed as needed for bridge work between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The Friday closure will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m.

    Wednesday, July 1 and Sunday, July 5 through Friday, July 10 - Two westbound lanes on S.R. 836 from I-95 to NW 17 Avenue will be closed as needed for bridge work between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The Friday closure will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m.

  • COMPLETE CLOSURE OF EASTBOUND S.R. 836 AT NW 17 AVENUE

    Wednesday, July 1 and Sunday, July 5 through Friday, July 10 - All eastbound S.R. 836 travel lanes will be closed at NW 17 Avenue between 11 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The closure on Friday will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m. The start and end times will be adjusted on special event days.
    The detours noted below and shown here will be in place to guide drivers around the work area. Drivers on eastbound S.R. 836 will:

    • Exit at NW 17 Avenue, then continue south across NW 7 Street
    • Turn left at SW 1 Street and continue east
    • Turn right at South Miami Avenue
    • Turn right to access the ramp to I-95 north or south
    • Drivers going to Biscayne Boulevard and the MacArthur Causeway can continue east on SW 1 Street and turn left on Biscayne Boulevard to connect with the MacArthur Causeway entrance ramp at NE 11 Terrace

    Drivers on NW 12 Avenue wanting to access eastbound S.R. 836, I-95, Biscayne Boulevard, and the MacArthur Causeway can continue south on NW 12 Avenue, turn left at SW 1 Street, and follow the detours above.

  • FULL CLOSURE OF WESTBOUND S.R. 836

    Wednesday, July 1 and Sunday, July 5 through Friday, July 10 - All westbound lanes on S.R. 836 will be closed as needed from NW 12 Avenue to NW 17 Avenue between 11 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The Friday closure will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m. The start and end times will be adjusted on special event days. Drivers can:

    • Exit at the NW 12 Avenue ramp, then turn left on NW 12 Avenue
    • Turn right on NW 7 Street
    • Turn right on NW 17 Avenue and continue north to connect with the westbound S.R. 836 ramp

  • NIGHTTIME CLOSURE OF NW SOUTH RIVER DRIVE UNDER S.R. 836 FOR BRIDGE WORK

    Wednesday, July 1 and Sunday, July 5 through Friday, July 10 - NW South River Drive will be closed under S.R. 836 between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. to allow the project contractor to perform work on the bridge over the roadway. The start and end times will be adjusted on special event days.

436523-1-52-01 : S.R. 5/U.S. 1/Overseas Hwy over Channel 5 Bridge Project

  • Nighttime single-lane closures will take place on the Channel 5 Bridge Monday, July 6, through Thursday, July 9, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning.

    Flaggers will periodically stop traffic in one direction to allow vehicles from the opposite direction to pass safely.

441964-1-52-01 : S.R. 5/U.S. 1/Overseas Hwy. over Long Key Bridge Rehabilitation Project

  • A single-lane closure is scheduled on the Long Key Bridge from 9:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, Monday, July 6, through Thursday, July 9.

    Traffic will be stopped periodically in one direction to allow vehicles from the opposite direction to pass safely.

    During these hours, traffic will be stopped in both directions periodically for up to 15 minutes for special bridge operations.

446231-1-52-01 : State Road (S.R.) 5/U.S. 1/Overseas Highway Seven Mile Bridge Over Moser Channel (Bridge #900101)

  • A single-lane closure is scheduled on the Seven Mile Bridge Monday, July 6, through Thursday, July 9, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning.

    Personnel will periodically stop traffic in one direction to allow vehicles from the opposite direction to pass safely.
