436565-1-52-01, 423251-3-52-01 : S.R. 25/US 27/Okeechobee Rd from E of NW 87 Ave to NW 74 Ave, including SR 826/Palmetto Expy

  • The dedicated right-turn lane, along NW South River Dr, to access the southbound SR 826/Palmetto Expressway on-ramp has been removed. Motorists will still be able to make right turn to access the on-ramp from the remaining travel lane. This removal will allow the crew to perform bridge demolition and widening.

  • General Lane Closures

    Closures may take place during the following hours:

    • 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays and weekends.
    • 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on weekdays.
    • 11 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. on weekends.

  • Various travel lane shifts have taken place along S.R. 25/U.S. 27/Okeechobee Road to allow for the expansion of the work zone. The dates and locations are as follows:

    • Westbound lanes along S.R. 25/U.S. 27/Okeechobee Road from S.R. 826/Palmetto Expressway to east of W. 18 Avenue will be shifted to the north.
    • Eastbound lanes along S.R. 25/U.S. 27/Okeechobee Road from east of W. 18 Avenue to S.R. 826/Palmetto Expressway will be shifted to the north.
    • Ramp from Okeechobee Road to northbound S.R. 826/Palmetto Expressway will be shifted to the north.
    • Exit lanes along the northbound S.R. 826/Palmetto Expressway off-ramp will be reduced from two to one lane. Lanes along NW South River Drive will remain the same.

  • The eastbound lane along NW South River Dr between NW 91 Terr and NW 79 Ave is fully closed. This closure allows the crew to start the reconstruction of NW South River Dr.

    The closure will be in place through Fall 2026. Access to adjacent businesses and neighborhoods will be maintained at all times through NW 91 Terrace and NW 90 Street.

    The following traffic patterns are in place:

    • Westbound NW South River Drive will remain open to traffic.
    • Motorists traveling along eastbound NW South River Drive, approaching NW 79 Avenue, wishing to access Okeechobee Road in both directions, will be detoured as follows:
      • Make a right on NW 93 Terrace
      • Turn left on NW 82 Avenue
      • Make a left on NW 90 Street
      • A left on NW 79 Avenue
      • Continue past the intersection of NW South River Drive and NW 79 Avenue, to access Okeechobee Road in both directions.
    • Motorists traveling along eastbound NW South River Drive, approaching NW 79 Avenue, wishing to continue along eastbound NW South River Drive or access the southbound SR 826/Palmetto Expressway on-ramp, will be detoured as follows:
      • Make a right on NW 93 Terrace
      • Turn left on NW 82 Avenue
      • Make a left on NW 90 Street
      • A left on NW 79 Avenue
      • Make a right on NW South River Drive to continue along east or access southbound SR 826/Palmetto Expressway on-ramp

  • Various lane reductions and traffic shifts have taken place as part of the S.R. 25/U.S. 27/Okeechobee Road Reconstruction Project. These shifts are necessary to allow crews to perform drainage and sidewalk improvements and expand the construction work zone. The new traffic patterns will be in place until Fall 2026.

    The dates and locations are as follows:

    • Right turn lane from northbound NW 79 Avenue to eastbound S.R. 25/U.S. 27/Okeechobee Road will be temporarily removed.
    • Travel lanes along W 18 Avenue between S.R. 25/U.S. 27/Okeechobee and W 35 Street will be shifted to the east, and lanes will be reduced from two to one lane in each direction.

  • Starting Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 9 p.m., travel lanes in both directions on the NW 79 Ave bridge between S.R. 25/U.S. 27/Okeechobee Rd and NW South River Dr will be shifted to the east. This shift will allow crews to continue reconstruction and widening of the bridge.

     

    The right-turn lane from eastbound S.R. 25/U.S. 27/Okeechobee Rd to southbound NW 79 Ave will be removed. Drivers will be detoured to the southbound S.R. 826/Palmetto Expy on-ramp bridge to access NW 79 Ave.

  • Overnight single-lane closures are scheduled on the Long Key Bridge Monday, September 21, through Thursday, September 23, from 9:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning. 


    Temporary traffic signals will be used to control alternating one-way traffic through the work zone. Motorists should be prepared to stop and proceed only when directed by the traffic signal.

  • Lane closures shall occur only during non-peak hours or on non-event days/weekends. Non-peak hours are:

    • Weekdays: 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.,
    • Sunday - Thursday: 9:30 p.m. -7:30 a.m.
    • Friday - Saturday: 11 p.m. - 7 a.m.

    Access to businesses and residences will be maintained at all times. Pedestrian and vehicular detours will be established with clear signage

449369-1-52-01 : S.R. 986/Sunset Drive/SW 72 Street and S.R. 826/Palmetto Expressway southbound off-ramp Intersection

  • Lanes can be closed during the following hours on Sunday through Thursday:

    • S.R. 826/Palmetto Expressway:
      • Southbound: 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
    • S.R. 986/SW 72 Street/Sunset Drive:
      • Westbound: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 9:30 p.m. to 7 a.m.
      • Eastbound: 9:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

    Access to businesses and residences will be maintained. Lane closure information will be posted weekly on the department’s website, www.SouthFLRoads.com.

  • Lane closures will be in place the week of September 21 for roadway paving. Lane closures will take place from 8:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. until Friday, September 24. 

    Residents and businesses near the area can expect:

    • Lane closures
    • Increased noise and vibration
    • Increased activity and equipment along the project limits

    Access to residences and businesses will be maintained. Please navigate the construction zone with caution and follow all posted detour signs.

  • NORTH MIAMI COURT DETOUR

    Monday, September 21 through Friday, September 25 - North Miami Court will be closed from NW 14 Street to NW 13 Street between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The closure is necessary to allow the contractor to perform drainage operations. Drivers should follow the posted detour routes.

  • I-95 LANE CLOSURES

    Wednesday, September 23 through Friday, September 25 and Sunday, September 27 through Friday, October 2 - Up to two lanes on southbound I-95 from NW 29 Street to NW 8 Street will be closed as needed between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The Friday closures will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m.

    Wednesday, September 23 through Friday, September 25 and Sunday, September 27 through Friday, October 2 - Up to two lanes on northbound I-95 will be closed as needed from NW 8 Street to NW 29 Street between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The Friday closures will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m.

  • I-395 MAINLINE LANE CLOSURES

    Wednesday, September 23 through Friday, September 25 and Sunday, September 27 through Friday, October 2 - One lane on mainline eastbound I-395 will be closed as needed from I-95 to Biscayne Boulevard between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

    Wednesday, September 23 through Friday, September 25 and Sunday, September 27 through Friday, October 2 - Up to two lanes on mainline westbound I-395 will be closed as needed from Biscayne Boulevard to I-95 between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

  • NW 2 AVENUE DETOUR

    Wednesday, September 23 through Friday, September 25 and Monday, September 28 through Friday, October 2 - NW 2 Avenue will be closed from NW 13 Street to NW 14 Street between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The closure is necessary to allow the contractor to move a crane across the roadway. Drivers should follow the posted detour routes.

  • COMPLETE CLOSURE OF EASTBOUND S.R. 836 AT NW 17 AVENUE

    Wednesday, September 23 through Friday, September 25 and Sunday, September 27 through Friday, October 2 - All eastbound S.R. 836 travel lanes will be closed at NW 17 Avenue between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The closure on Friday, October 2 will begin at 10 p.m. and end at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 3. The start and end times will be adjusted on special event days.


    The detours noted below and shown here will be in place to guide drivers around the work area. Drivers on eastbound S.R. 836 will:

    • Exit at NW 17 Avenue, then continue south across NW 7 Street
    • Turn left at SW 1 Street and continue east
    • Turn right at South Miami Avenue
    • Turn right to access the ramp to I-95 north or south
    • Drivers going to Biscayne Boulevard and the MacArthur Causeway can continue east on SW 1 Street and turn left on Biscayne Boulevard to connect with the MacArthur Causeway entrance ramp at NE 11 Terrace

    Drivers on NW 12 Avenue wanting to access eastbound S.R. 836, I-95, Biscayne Boulevard, and the MacArthur Causeway can continue south on NW 12 Avenue, turn left at SW 1 Street, and follow the detours above.

     

  • FULL CLOSURE OF WESTBOUND S.R. 836

    Wednesday, September 23 through Friday, September 25 and Sunday, September 27 through Friday, October 2 - All westbound lanes on S.R. 836 will be closed as needed from NW 12 Avenue to NW 17 Avenue between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The Friday closures will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m. The start and end times will be adjusted on special event days. Drivers can:

    • Exit at the NW 12 Avenue ramp, then turn left on NW 12 Avenue
    • Turn right on NW 7 Street
    • Turn right on NW 17 Avenue and continue north to connect with the westbound S.R. 836 ramp

  • S.R. 836 LANE CLOSURES

    Wednesday, September 23 through Friday, September 25 and Sunday, September 27 through Friday, October 2 - Two eastbound lanes on S.R. 836 from NW 17 Avenue to I-95 will be closed as needed for bridge work between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The Friday closures will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m.

    Wednesday, September 23 through Friday, September 25 and Sunday, September 27 through Friday, October 2 - Two westbound lanes on S.R. 836 from I-95 to NW 17 Avenue will be closed as needed for bridge work between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The Friday closures will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m.

  • DAYTIME FULL CLOSURE OF NW 14 STREET

    Through Friday, October 30 - NW 14 Street from NW 3 Avenue to NW 1 Place will be closed Monday through Saturday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., to erect precast roadway segments. Drivers and pedestrians can use the detours shown here.

    • Drivers on eastbound NW 14 Street can:  
      • Turn right on NW 3 Avenue, then turn left on NW 13 Street
      • Turn left on NW 1 Place to connect with NW 14 Street
    • Drivers on westbound NW 14 Street can:  
      • Turn right on NW 1 Place, then turn left on NW 16 Street
      • Turn left on NW 2 Avenue to continue onto NW 16 Street
      • Turn left on NW 3 Avenue to connect with NW 14 Street

     

  • FULL CLOSURE OF BISCAYNE BOULEVARD, NE 13 STREET AND SOUTHBOUND NORTH BAYSHORE DRIVE

    Wednesday, September 23 through Friday, September 25 and Sunday, September 27 through Friday, October 2 - The following closures will be implemented between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. for drainage and roadway work. Daytime lane closures will also be necessary at times. The start and end times will be adjusted on special event days.

    • All northbound and southbound lanes on Biscayne Boulevard from NE 14 Street to NE 11 Terrace
    • All lanes on NE 13 Street from N Bayshore Drive to NE 2 Avenue
    • All southbound lanes on North Bayshore Drive from NE 14 Street to NE 13 Street

    Thursday, September 24 and Friday, September 25 - Southbound North Bayshore Drive will be closed as needed between NE 13 Street and NE 14 Street, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for drainage work.

    • Southbound detour: Drivers traveling southbound on North Bayshore Drive can turn right on NE 15 Street or NE 14 Street to connect with Biscayne Boulevard

    • 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., within the limits of the school zone
    • 10:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., while school zone is active
    • In the westbound direction:
    • 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. within the limits of a school zone
    • 5 a.m. to 6:45 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., while school zone is active

    Lane closures shall not be permitted during school speed zone hours where such closures will affect traffic flow in the vicinity of the school speed zones.

    • Up to one southbound or northbound lane along S.R. 5/Biscayne Boulevard will be closed (as needed) from NE 61 Street to NE 64 Street between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and at night between 11:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m.
    • Up to one southbound or northbound lane along S.R. 5/Biscayne Boulevard will be closed (as needed) from NE 64 Street to NE 6 Avenue between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and at night between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.

  • LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION

    Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community.

    Lanes can be closed during the following hours:

    • 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights
    • 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., Friday and Saturday nights

    Roadway lane closures and detours will be established during any overhead work and as necessary to ensure safety during construction.

    Brief, temporary lane closures may occur daily on westbound SW 8 Street between SW 109 Avenue and SW 112 Avenue to safely accommodate crane lifting operations. These closures will be short in duration, and traffic will resume immediately after each lift is completed. 

443913-1-52-01 : S.R. 886/Port Boulevard from S.R. 5/U.S. 1/ Biscayne Boulevard to PortMiami

  • LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION

    Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community. Lanes can be closed during the following hours on non-event days:

    • Single and double-lane closures along S.R. 886/Port Boulevard:
    • 5 p.m. to 5 a.m., Tuesdays through Thursdays
    • Single and double-lane closures along S.R. 5/Biscayne Boulevard:
    • 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sundays through Thursdays
    • 11 p.m. to 9 a.m., Fridays and Saturdays
    • Westbound S.R. 886/Port Boulevard: Up to two lanes will be closed from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Tuesday, August 18 through Thursday, August 20, 2026.
    • Eastbound S.R. 886/Port Boulevard: Up to two lanes will be closed from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m., Tuesday, August 18 through Thursday, August 20, 2026.
    • ​​​Please note that at least one lane in each direction will remain open to traffic at all times. This schedule may change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
