This project was completed in October 2023
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has a landscaping project underway along State Road (SR) 5/US 1/Overseas Highway in Monroe County. The contractor began landscape installation on May 3, 2021. The remainder of the project schedule is for the establishment period to allow the new landscape material to settle.
WORK TO BE PERFORMED:
- Adding landscape to the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail
- Planting of mostly native trees and shrubs in the medians and roadsides
LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION:
Travel lanes and sidewalks shall be closed only during non-peak hours on non-event days. Non-peak hours are:
- 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday
- 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Fridays (Northbound only)
