The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for two roadway improvement projects along State Road (SR) 994/Quail Roost Drive/SW 186 Street from east of SR 821/Florida’s Turnpike to SR 5/US 1/South Dixie Highway, in Miami-Dade County.

WORK TO BE PERFORMED:

  • Installing plastic poles in the median along SR 994/Quail Roost Drive/SW 186 Street between SR 5/US 1 and the busway
  • Updating the existing traffic light at the southbound approach at Homestead Avenue
  • Repaving and restriping the roadway
  • Upgrading pedestrian crossing signs and installing new signals
  • Reconstructing damaged driveways and sidewalks   
  • Improving drainage
  • Upgrading traffic signs

MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC (MOT):

Temporary lane closures will be during non-peak hours and will have minimum impacts on traffic. Access to all businesses will be maintained during construction. Pedestrian traffic will be temporarily impacted.
