The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for an intersection improvement project along SR 989/Allapattah Road at SW 211 Street, in Miami-Dade County.

  • Widening SR 989/Allapattah Road to provide a northbound left turn lane and extend the northbound right turn lane
  • Improving signalization at the intersection
  • Widening the SW 211 Street median to extend the westbound left turn lane
  • Installing new inlets to improve storm water drainage
  • Repaving and restriping of the roadway
  • Installing new signing and pavement markings

Temporary workday lane closures during non-peak hours will be required and will have a minimal effect on traffic. Access and egress to and from adjacent neighborhoods and businesses as well as pedestrian traffic will be maintained during construction.
