SR 977/Krome Ave from SR 94/Kendall Dr to SR 90/SW 8 St

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six is developing the design for a safety enhancement project along SR 977/Krome Avenue in Miami-Dade County:

PROJECT DETAILS

 •  SW 88 Street/Kendall Drive Improvements
o Realigning the intersection to enhance sight distance and lane balance
o Repaving and restriping the road to extend the life of the road
o Upgrading signage, lighting and traffic signals to increase intersection safety

•  Krome Avenue Improvements
o Widening the road from two lanes to four lanes
o Installing a 40-foot median to enhance safety
o Repaving and restriping the road and shoulders
o Upgrading drainage where necessary

• SW 8 Street/Tamiami Trail Intersection Improvements
o Realigning the intersection to enhance sight distance and lane balance
o Widening the bridge to allow additional right turn westbound lanes to increase capacity
o Upgrading signage, lighting and traffic signals to increase traffic safety
