Project Summary
he Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six is developing the design for a roadway project in Miami-Dade County, as follows:
- Repaving the road and upgrading signage and pavement markings
- Restriping travel lanes and adding about 2.5 feet of new pavement to accommodate paved shoulders along both sides of the road which could serve as bicycle lanes
- Upgrading pedestrian ramps
- Installing missing sections of sidewalk along the east side of SW 57 Avenue from Murcia Avenue to Salvatierra Avenue and along the west side of SW 57 Avenue north and south of SW 35 Street; from SW 28 Street to SW 27 Street; and south of SW 24 Street
- Installing new outside railings on the bridge between SW 35 Street and SW 34 Street and improving the sidewalk along the east side of the bridge
- Installing new drainage structures at localized sections of the swale to minimize flooding
- Replacing the existing four palm trees south of Sevilla Avenue with a new shade tree at a new location within the project limits

MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC
Work will be done in phases to reduce impacts to drivers, local residents and businesses.
Road closures and detours are anticipated during the construction phase of this project.
The detour route will be clearly indicated with directional signs.
Driveways and entrances to businesses and homes will stay open. Any driveway work will be coordinated with each property owner and done at a mutually convenient time.
