The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for a roadway safety project along State Road (SR) 953/LeJeune Road from SW 2 Street to NW 11 Street, in Miami-Dade County.


  • Improving the intersections of Flagler Street, NW 3 Street, and NW 7 Street
  • Adding a protected designated left turn lane from North and Southbound traffic at NW 3 Street
  • Installing countdown pedestrian signals
  • Improving crosswalks at the intersection of NW 7 Street and adding pedestrian signage at the intersection of Flagler Street
  • Reconstructing the median at the intersections of SW 2 Street and NW 9 Street to enhance capacity
  • Repaving and restriping the roadway
  • Repairing damaged sidewalks due to the proposed signalization improvements
  • Replacing existing traffic signals and updating signal timings


Temporary lane closures during non-peak hours will have minimal effects on traffic.
