South Florida Roads (Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties)


The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for a roadway safety improvement project along State Road (SR) 94/SW 88 Street/Kendall Drive from SW 77 Avenue to SR 5/US 1/South Dixie Highway, in Miami-Dade County.


  • Reconfiguring northbound SW 77 Avenue lanes
  • Redesigning median opening to restrict westbound left-turn movement along SW 88 Street at SW 72 Avenue
  • Providing westbound left-turn and U-turn movements for vehicles at SW 7200 Block
  • Extending and widening left-turn bays
  • Repaving and restriping the roadway
  • Installing pedestrian crosswalks and pavement markings
  • Installing new pedestrian crosswalk at SW 73 Place, Dadeland Boulevard and SW 7200 Block
  • Upgrading pedestrian signage
  • Upgrading six signalized intersections
  • Reconstructing sidewalks and pedestrian curb ramps


Temporary lane closures during non-peak hours will have minimal effects on traffic.
