South Florida Roads (Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties)


The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for a roadway improvement project along State Road (SR) 5/US 1/S Dixie Highway from Bailes Road to SW 214 Street, in Miami-Dade County. 


  • Repaving and restriping the roadway
  • Upgrading traffic lights at the following intersections: SW 224 Street, SW 220 Street and SW 216 Street
  • Improving pedestrian signage, curb ramps and pavement markings


Temporary lane closures during non-peak hours will have minimal effects on traffic. Access to adjacent neighborhoods and businesses will be maintained during construction. Pedestrian traffic will be impacted. Detours will be established.
