The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for an intersection improvement project at SR 5/US 1/South Dixie Highway and SW 112 Avenue, in Miami-Dade County
  • Enhancing traffic signals by adding dedicated left turn signals from US 1 to SW 112 Avenue in both directions
  • Adding a second left turn lane from US 1 to SW 112 Avenue
  • Repaving and restriping the intersection
  • Installing high emphasis crosswalks and pedestrian signs at the intersection near Southland Mall
  • Reconstructing the raised island at the intersection
  • Widening the southbound lanes along SR 5/US 1/ South Dixie Highway just south of the intersection

It may be necessary to close sidewalks, travel lanes and detour traffic temporarily during construction. These closures and detours will be scheduled to minimize impacts to motorists and pedestrians.
