The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six is developing the design for a roadway project along State Road (SR) 847/NW 47 Avenue from SR 860/NW 183 Street, in Miami-Dade County to North of Premier Parkway, in Broward County.

  • Widening the roadway by adding an additional northbound and southbound lane
  • Constructing several new medians in the center of the roadway
  • Updating the drainage system
  • Adding designated bicycle lanes on both sides of the road
  • Reconstructing the roadway and sidewalk
  • Upgrading pedestrian ramps to current standards
  • Adding new on-street lighting
  • Upgrading pedestrian and roadway signs and signals
  • Reconstructing driveways
  • Adding new curb and gutter
  • Replacing bridge over Snake Creek Canal
Temporary lane closures during non-peak hours will have minimal effects on traffic. Access and egress to and from adjacent neighborhoods and businesses will be maintained during construction. SR 847/NW 47 Avenue will need to be detoured to replace the existing culvert at the Carol City Canal and the bridge over Snake Creek Canal.
