- Lane Closures
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for a roadway improvement project located along State Road (SR) A1A/Collins Avenue from 26 Street to 44 Street/Indian Creek Drive, in Miami-Dade County.
WORK TO BE PERFORMED:
- Repaving and restriping the roadway
- Adjusting manholes
- Upgrading signing and pavement markings
- Reconstructing damaged sidewalks, ramps and curb and gutter
- Upgrading crosswalks
- Trimming trees and shrubs encroaching into the roadway/sidewalks
- Relocating some light poles
- Upgrading pedestrian signs and push-buttons
- Removing 19 parking spaces due to the addition of the bicycle lane northbound
- Improving drainage
- Adding overhead signs before the 44 Street/Indian Creek Drive signal
- Widening the roadway just before the 44 Street/Indian Creek Drive signal to make way for two left turn lanes and two right turn lanes
MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC
During construction, there will be temporary lane closures during non-peak hours and detours will have effects on traffic. There will be temporary impacts to the existing parallel parking. Pedestrian detours will be established with clear signage. Access to adjacent businesses and neighborhoods will be maintained.
