South Florida Roads (Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties)


The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has begun a roadway safety improvement project along SR 907/Alton Road at Michigan Avenue in the City of Miami Beach.


  • Widening the roadway to accommodate a second southbound left-turn lane at the intersection of Alton Road and Michigan Avenue
  • Installing drainage inlets at various locations
  • Removing and relocating landscaping as needed
  • Repaving and restriping the roadway
  • Upgrading pedestrian curb ramps
  • Installing new traffic and pedestrian signals and signs
  • Installing new street lighting


To do this work safely, it will be necessary to close travel lanes and establish detours at times.

Lanes may be closed during non-peak hours.
