Overseas Hwy (SR 5 / U.S. 1)
Both northbound and southbound lanes of traffic are in their final configuration on the new bridge. Businesses on both sides of Jewfish Creek can be accessed by ramps on either side of the bridge.
There will be a lane closure with alternate flagging January 5, 2009 through January 8, 2009 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., at the U.S. 1 / Card Sound Road intersection at Mile Marker (MM) 126.
The passing zone from approximately MM 121 to 123 is now limited to one lane in each direction. Watch for truck traffic and shoulder work throughout the construction zone.
The speed limit is 45 mph northbound from MM 106 to MM 108 and 45 mph southbound from MM 108 to 106 and 55 mph for north and southbound traffic from approximately MM 108 to MM 116 and 45 mph from MM 116 to MM 126.
One lane in each direction on U.S. 1 on Big Pine Key from near Jade Drive to near the Shark Key entrance is closed weekdays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., through January 15, 2009.
The northbound lanes on the Whale Harbor Bridge (MM 10.03) will be shifted from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., January 1, 2009, for the annual Blessing of the Fleet event.
